Discussions and Questions Yamaha Fz - Page 4
Are people right about the jerky fuel mapping and throttle response on the FZ-09?
10 January 2025 08:21
Once you get an ECU flash it is night and day. Totally worth it and the bike transforms. This should have been like this from the factory.
Is the FZ09 too much bike for a new rider?
10 January 2025 08:21
If you have a good head on your shoulders and get proper training, it can be done. Why make learning harder on yourself? But there are better starter options out there.
Is the FZ07 outdated in 2025, or is it still relevant in 2025?
10 January 2025 08:15
Yamaha really needs to update this bike, it’s still a great bike, but it’s getting old. A little more power, better suspension, and some basic traction control would be a long way.
What's the difference between the FZ-07 and its bigger brother, the FZ-09/MT-09, for everyday riding?
10 January 2025 08:15
For everyday riding, the FZ-07 is way better. It's lighter, more fuel efficient and you can actually use the power on the street without going to jail.
What potential buyer should know about the FZ-07’s biggest weakness?
10 January 2025 08:15
The biggest issue for me is lack of wind protection. Around town, it's fine, but on the highway you feel like a sail. It helps with a small screen, but it’s never going to be a tourer.
Is the Yamaha FZ 07 really a good starter bike or is it too much for beginners?
10 January 2025 08:15
It's all about self-control. You don't crash because the bike does it, you do. The FZ 07 is a great first bike that you won’t outgrow in a month if you can resist the urge to show off and ride within your limits.
What is the one mod to do on every FZ-07?
10 January 2025 08:15
So the first thing I did was swap out the seat. After an hour, you get uncomfortable on the stock one and a good aftermarket seat makes all the difference on a long ride.
What is the best mods for Yamaha FZ8?
10 January 2025 08:09
Forget performance mods. Focus on comfort. It’s a way better bike for long rides with a better seat, handlebar risers, and a taller windscreen.
How reliable is the FZ8 at high miles?
10 January 2025 08:09
These things are bulletproof. With over 100,000 km, my FZ8 still runs like new. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance, you’re fine.
Is the FZ8 a good touring platform?
10 January 2025 08:09
I would say it's more of a sport bike that occasionally can do some long trip. If you were doing serious touring you'd be looking for more wind protection and capacity for luggage.
Is a Yamaha FZ8 a good choice for the first time rider?
10 January 2025 08:09
I think it's possible if you're really, really careful. At low RPMs, the power is manageable. Don’t go crazy with the throttle though.
In 2025 how does the FZ8 compare to modern naked bikes?
10 January 2025 08:09
That depends on what you are after. If you want the latest tech, go new. The FZ8 is a great, reliable, no frills bike that still gets the job done.
Is the FZ25 still a good buy or can something better be had in 2025?
10 January 2025 08:03
If you’re into the modding scene, a used FZ25 is a good platform to build on. It has tons of aftermarket support and you can make it your own.
What is the best touring setup for FZ25 for long distance rides?
10 January 2025 08:03
Concentrate on the rider more than the bike. Any bike mods are nothing compared to good gear, especially a helmet you don't want to take off, and riding pants that fit.
Can the FZ25 keep up with modern 200cc sport bikes?
10 January 2025 08:03
Straight line speed isn't all of it. Because of its better stability, more relaxed ergonomics, the FZ25 is a better all-rounder for daily use and touring.
Is the Yamaha FZ25 really discontinued or is it just waiting for a comeback?
10 January 2025 08:03
It's definitely dead. Yamaha couldn’t make the FZ25 stand out in a 250cc segment which is too crowded. If they don’t like them, they’ll stick to what works for them.
In terms of long term reliability of the FZ25 compared to the other bikes in its segment?
10 January 2025 08:03
It's reliable but not an outlier; I'd say it's above average in reliability but the gap isn't as big as some FZ fans make it out to be. Bikes in general are pretty solid these days.
What problems do FZ1 Fazer owners have the most?
10 January 2025 07:47
They're pretty bulletproof bikes, honestly. The vast majority of issues are very minor and easy to fix. The problems you see with some other brands are nothing like that.
Is the FZ1 Fazer better as a sport bike or as a tourer?
10 January 2025 07:47
It's too heavy as a sport bike, and the suspension is too soft. It’s not a tourer, it doesn’t have luggage options and the fuel range could be better. It's stuck in the middle.
Is the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer a good first bike for a new rider?
10 January 2025 07:47
It depends on the rider. You might be okay if you’re older, cautious, and have good self control. However, for most new riders, it's too much power to handle safely until he has learned.
