I can tell you I like it far better than the old FZ. The difference is the wider seat and grab rails better positioned.

For short trips it’s okay, but if you’re doing more than 30 minutes your pillion will start squirming. Passengers will find the Pulsar N160 more comfortable.

In fact, the pillion seat is one of the reasons I chose the FZS. It is much more comfortable than our old Apache, my wife likes it.

The seat lacks enough cushioning and the grab rails are well designed. On bumpy roads, it gets uncomfortable.

It’s above average compared to other 150cc bikes. If pillion comfort is your number one priority, then you may want to check out 180 – 200cc bikes instead.

The pillion seat is one annoying thing that gets really hot in traffic. They should have added better heat insulation at Yamaha.

City use is fine but on highways the lack of wind protection for the pillion becomes obvious. If you do a lot of highway riding with a passenger you might want to consider adding a small windscreen.

The seating position is perfect for traffic, I find. Very upright and comfortable with good visibility.
