Is the Yamaha FZ 07 really a good starter bike or is it too much for beginners?
The Yamaha FZ-07 (or MT-07, as it’s called in some markets) has become something of a favourite among new and experienced riders alike. The lightweight chassis, responsive engine, and relatively low price make it a great candidate for people new to the world of riding. But with around 70 horsepower on tap and a torquey twin cylinder engine some say it might be too much bike for a complete novice. Most of the debate revolves around how the bike delivers its power, how easy it is to control, and how forgiving (or not) the bike is to rider mistakes. If the FZ-07 is a first bike, it will factor in the rider’s maturity, past riding experience with motorized vehicle, and physical stature. The motorcycling community is raking up over this question, with strong pro and contra arguments.
Absolutely! But the FZ-07 is a perfect beginner bike. It's nimble, it's light and the power is totally manageable if you're not an idiot with the throttle.
