Is the FZ25 still a good buy or can something better be had in 2025?

Moving into 2025, the motorcycle market is a different place than when the FZ25 was the hot thing. The FZ25 has been around for a while and some riders wonder if the bike still matters as newer models offer newer features and more power. The question is whether the bike is a good value proposition in a market that's changing rapidly. For example, its simplicity, reliability and potential for customization make it a smart choice, supporters argue, especially on the used market. Newer bikes have better power to weight ratios, advanced electronics and more modern design is what critics point to. In many cases, the conversation revolves around a comparison to today’s 250cc offerings, or smaller displacement bikes that may provide similar, or even better performance. When we talk about the 2025 motorcycle landscape, factors such as fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and the riding experience must be taken into consideration, to determine the place of the FZ25.

While it’s a good bike still, I would roll on a few newer options before deciding. Over the last few years, the market has really evolved.

In fact, the lack of features is a plus for me. It’s a pure riding experience with no complicated electronics to go wrong.

If you’re into the modding scene, a used FZ25 is a good platform to build on. It has tons of aftermarket support and you can make it your own.

I still love mine in 2025. Easy to maintain, cheap parts and it does everything I need. Why complicate things?

It's outdated now. There is no ABS, basic instrument cluster, and the performance is nothing special for today.

It's hard to beat for the used market price. For the money, you get a lot of bike, and they're supposed to last forever.

I'd pass. The FZ25 was designed a long time ago, and technology has come a long way since then. Now you can get much more bike for your money.

That depends on what you want. The FZ25 is still a solid commuter with a simple, comfortable ride that can handle the odd weekend trip.

Nah, there’s way better options now. For the same money, the new Pulsar N250 and Gixxer 250 offer more features and better performance.

If you can find a wellmaintained used one, then absolutely still worth it. This is a no nonsense, reliable bike that will last you for years.
