In terms of long term reliability of the FZ25 compared to the other bikes in its segment?
For many Indian motorcycle buyers, reliability is a big factor — especially those who need a daily rider that will also do occasional long trips. Even though the FZ25 has been discontinued, some riders still swear that it is one of the most durable bikes on the road. Recent social media posts featuring posts of FZ25s with high mileage have rekindled discussions about the bike’s long run reliability. It’s a debate that owners and enthusiasts have among themselves, on how it measures up to competition like the Pulsar 250, Gixxer 250, and even smaller bikes like the Apache 200. Maintenance cost, part availability, overall quality of the build are all factors that come into play. It’s a conversation that often includes personal experiences, common issues (if there are any) and how well the bike lasts over time versus its peers.

It's reliable but not an outlier; I'd say it's above average in reliability but the gap isn't as big as some FZ fans make it out to be. Bikes in general are pretty solid these days.

In fact, the lack of fancy features actually helps to ensure long term reliability. Less to go wrong over time.

It’s reliable but now it is a discontinued item and parts availability could be an issue. A consideration for long term ownership.

The engine is bulletproof, I’ve heard of suspension issues cropping up over time. Still, nothing major.

My FZ25 has been much less trouble than my friend’s Gixxer 250. An easier thing to maintain and it feels more solidly built.

After about 50,000 km I've had issues with electrical gremlins on mine. It's not perfect but it's pretty reliable.

What works for the FZ25 is its simplicity. Fewer things to go wrong in the long run means less fancy electronics.

Sure, it’s reliable, as are most bikes in this segment now. In the last few years, the Apache and Pulsar have stepped it up.

And my FZ25 just passed 100,000 km and is still going strong. If you take care of these things they're built like tanks.
