I think it's all about expectation. So, if you’re fine with a slightly lower pace and not mind taking breaks, the FZS 250 can also be a fun touring companion. It's light enough to handle and good on twisty roads.

I've done a 2000 km trip on the FZS 250 and I'd say it's surprisingly capable. It’s not the fastest, but it’s reliable and comfortable enough. All you have to do is pack light and be wise about your routes.

The FZS 250 is a city bike masquerading as a tourer. It’s fine for short trips, but if you want to do serious long distance riding, you’d be better off with something like Dominar 400 or even RE Himalayan.

The FZS 250 turned out to be a nice budget touring option. It's fuel efficient, road friendly and comfy enough for long days in the saddle. You just won't break any speed records though.

I replaced the stock air filter with a high flow one. It definitely improved throttle response, and is easy to revert for warranty claims.

It's asking for trouble messing with the bike. It's perfect as is. What do you have to gain for voiding the warranty for such little gain?

I got a slip on exhaust that's street legal. It sounds better and may give a tiny bit of power. So far no issues with warranty.

ECU tuning is the way to go. I found a guy that does it, and leaves no trace. Now bike feels much more alive.

Tried a bunch of mods, but none really did much. Save your money and let the bike be as Yamaha intended.

Changed the sprockets for better acceleration. Its a simple mod that adds some fun to city riding without affecting the warranty.

Installed a Power Commander. It can be easily removed before service visits. It is totally worth it.

Why bother? If you wanted more performance, you should have bought a bigger bike. For what it is, the FZS V3 is great.

I focus on weight reduction. I removed unnecessary bits and swapped some parts for lighter alternatives. No engine mods needed to achieve better performance.

Braided steel upgraded the brake lines. It's a safety mod that shouldn't void anything, and it made a massive improvement in brake feel.

I was blown away by its efficiency, I did a 500km trip. Even at 80-90 kmph speeds, it averaged around 45 kmpl. A highway star is The Dark Knight!

It’s nothing spectacular, but decent. But on long rides, my buddy's Pulsar NS160 seems to sip less fuel.

The best area is from 70 to 75 kmph. The mileage plummets like a rock if you push it harder. And for a 150cc bike, it’s pretty good.

I installed a small windscreen and it made quite a difference to fuel efficiency on highways. I guess that was less wind resistance.

It's all about how you ride. On highways, I have gotten anywhere from 40 to 55 kmpl. It’s all about smooth throttle control.

Long rides? It's too small a tank for serious touring. On highway trips, I'm stopping for fuel way too often.
