What is the best mods for Yamaha FZ8?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
Customizing motorcycles is something that many riders partake in, and the Yamaha FZ8 has become a nice platform to do so. In the debate among owners, there is usually the question of which modification provides the most bang for the performance or comfort or aesthetic buck. Suspension upgrades, adapting an exhaust system, ergonomic changes and, of course, cosmetic enhancement are common areas of focus. The trade off between making the bike more capable, and keeping it reliable and touchable every day is a frequent discussion. While some riders suggest riders should leave the bike mostly stock — the bike as it came from the factory — others enjoy the process of customizing every aspect of the bike to their own liking. Personal experiences with different mods are often discussed, their effect on bike character, and the cost effectiveness of various upgrades.

A set of tires can make all the difference in the world. The stock ones are okay, but something grippier is a huge upgrade.

Gearing change is underrated. In the front I go -1 and in the rear I go +2 it wakes the bike up and makes it much more fun in the twisties.

LED lights all around. It looks cooler, it adds a lot of value, and it gives you better visibility.

Keep it stock. The FZ8 is great as is. I might add some frame sliders for protection, but that's all.

By the Power Commander, I swear. It smooths out the fueling and allows you to open up some hidden potential, especially with an exhaust.

Forget performance mods. Focus on comfort. It’s a way better bike for long rides with a better seat, handlebar risers, and a taller windscreen.

The biggest difference comes from suspension upgrades. Fork internals are better and a rear shock improves the handling.

The best first mod is a good exhaust. The sound wakes up and is given a small power boost. But don't go too loud that it annoys everyone.
