What's the difference between the FZ-07 and its bigger brother, the FZ-09/MT-09, for everyday riding?
Yamaha FZ-07(MT-07) and FZ-09(MT-09) are very popular naked bikes from the same family, but it is a different kind of riding experience that both offer. The FZ-07 has a 689cc parallel-twin, the FZ-09 a 847cc triple. The engine configuration and displacement difference causes people to argue which bike is better for daily use. The influence of power delivery, fuel efficiency, comfort and ease of handling in different road conditions. Others claim the FZ-07's lighter weight and easier to manage power makes it perfect for commuting and city riding, and that the FZ-09's extra power and features make it a more do it all machine. As such, the conversation often extends to maintenance costs, insurance rates and the inevitably subjective 'fun factor' of each bike. It regularly causes an argument between riders attempting to choose between the two bikes or support their choice of one over the other.
For everyday riding, the FZ-07 is way better. It's lighter, more fuel efficient and you can actually use the power on the street without going to jail.
