Will the Creta EV affect the Indian electric vehicle market overall?
02 January 2025 11:43
Charging infrastructure is what will be hit the hardest. We could see a boom in charging stations if the Creta EV does sell well, as there will be a lot of new EVs on the road to support.
Is the sporty suspension of the Creta N Line, which is aimed at the Indian roads, too stiff?
02 January 2025 10:15
That depends on what your priorities are. It's really good if you like handling and don't mind feeling more of the road. If you want to be isolated completely from the road, then the regular Creta is your best bet.
Why is this the case? Why do Creta drivers get such a bad reputation on Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:26
It's more about the Creta buyers' demographic, I think. Most of the time it’s younger professionals or first time SUV buyers who probably went a little crazy with their new ride. They'll mellow out, give them time.
Does the Aura’s ride quality make it suitable for Indian roads?
02 January 2025 07:24
If you're somebody who is frequently found behind the wheel in both city streets and highways, then you'll appreciate the fit the Aura wears in between the two. The chair is comfortable enough for daily commutes and doesn’t feel too floaty on highways. It’s not perfect, but if you’re looking for a good price, it’s a good balance.
What does the BYD eMAX 7's success mean for the electrification of the Indian MPV segment?
02 January 2025 06:29
I'm skeptical. It’s not like one premium EV is going to completely change the whole segment. The majority of MPV buyers seek for affordable and reliable family cars. Till the time, there is no electric MPV that can match the Ertiga on price, mass electrification will not happen.
Is the BYD eMAX 7 a game changer for the Indian MPV market?
02 January 2025 06:29
Game-changer? More like a niche player. Yes, it’s got some fancy tech, but at that price point, it’s not going to unseat the Innova anytime soon. While rotating touchscreens may be the latest thing on the market, most MPV buyers are in the market for reliability and low running costs.
With AC blasting, how will the Electric XUV300's range hold up in real world Indian conditions?
02 January 2025 05:48
It will depend a lot on the driving style. If you are gentle on the throttle and use good regenerative braking, you could probably get within proximity of the advertised range even with AC.
Will the premium pricing strategy of the Mahindra XUV.e9 work in the Indian market?
31 December 2024 11:18
I think it could work. People trust Indian brands more for after sales support and Mahindra's been upping their game lately.
How far and how fast can the Mahindra XUV.e9 go in real world Indian conditions?
31 December 2024 11:18
Range is only part of it; it's also about how fast it charges. But if it can charge quickly at highway stops, the range isn't as much of an issue.
Will those advanced features like ADAS and AutoPark of the XEV 9e be practical in Indian traffic conditions?
31 December 2024 11:03
The problem is that I worry about over reliance on these systems. Indian drivers could get used to it and become more casual with their attention to the road.
Is the Mahindra XEV 9e's coupe like design a hit or miss among Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 11:03
It's a hit in my book. Yes, it may not be the most practical, but it's nice to see that Mahindra is willing to take a risk and play with design boundaries.
How will the XEV 9e fare against petrol powered SUVs on Indian roads?
31 December 2024 11:03
I wonder how it performs in extreme heat. Does it throttle power (rather than drawing all power from the battery) to protect the battery? In peak summer that could be a downside.
Is the Mahindra XEV 7e's power too much for Indian roads?
31 December 2024 10:51
I really like the fact that we're getting high performance EVs in India. We can't use all that power all the time, but it's nice to have for highway overtakes and knowing you have it when you need it.
Is the XEV 7e’s dashboard too minimalist for Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 10:51
You're all missing the point. Distracted driving is the real issue. The more touchscreen dependency we have, the more eyes off the road we have. It's a safety concern.
Was the Mahindra Reva E2O too early for the Indian market?
31 December 2024 10:36
Definitely ahead of its time. The E2O had smartphone connectivity – a feature that most cars didn’t have even have a touchscreen. The market wasn't ready though, no charging infra, expensive, and people were skeptical about EVs. It was like selling smartphones before 3G networks were invented.
What does Mahindra’s electric halo car mean for Indian automotive engineering's perception globally?
31 December 2024 10:28
Whether the tech will be developed in India will determine how big the impact will be, I think. If it’s mostly imported components it doesn’t do much for our engineering reputation. And we need to show that homegrown innovation.
Will Mahindra's focus on a high end electric halo car divert resources away from developing more practical EVs for the Indian market?
31 December 2024 10:28
I don't think it's an either or. In fact, the halo car project may help development of more practical EVs move faster by pushing the envelope of what's possible. It’s like F1 tech eventually works its way into regular cars.
Will the eKUV100’s design be an attraction for young Indian buyers?
31 December 2024 10:19
I think it's cute! It has a sort of quirky charm that first time buyers might find appealing.
Does the e2o Plus' safety features give you the confidence to drive on Indian roads?
31 December 2024 10:14
It's as safe as you drive it. I keep to city limits and drive defensively. In chaotic traffic, the car's agility actually is a help in avoiding accidents. I wouldn't want to be in it during a major collision, though.
Will Indian owners of the BE 09 find the high tech features a boon or a burden?
31 December 2024 09:52
India needs these features and it’s about time we get them. Of course there are bound to be a few teething problems, but we can't continue to fall behind the rest of the world in automotive tech.
