Why is this the case? Why do Creta drivers get such a bad reputation on Indian roads?

In fact, Creta drivers in India are a common joke, as people say they seem to be aggressive or inconsiderate on the roads. While Creta owners are stereotyped from tailgating to excessive honking and flashing lights. Is the car itself a magnet for a particular type of driver, or is this just confirmation bias? Perhaps it's the car's presence on the road, or it's popularity with young, affluent buyers. So let’s delve into the reasons why we think this way and whether it’s fair to paint all Creta drivers with the same brush.

It's just stereotyping. There are good and bad drivers in every car. Because Creta are popular, you see more bad Creta drivers. I’ve also seen plenty of courteous Creta owners.

There's some truth to it. And some drivers may feel invincible with the Creta’s barbell brawn and its powerful engine. The car isn't at fault, but they tend to attract a certain aggressive driver.

It's more about the Creta buyers' demographic, I think. Most of the time it’s younger professionals or first time SUV buyers who probably went a little crazy with their new ride. They'll mellow out, give them time.

But as a Creta owner, I hate this stereotype. I always drive carefully and always follow rules. We shouldn’t be labelled all of us for a few bad drivers.

The car is popular and thus its reputation. With so many Cretas on the road, you’re bound to see more bad driving. It’s not about the car, it’s about driver education in general.
