Is the BYD eMAX 7 a game changer for the Indian MPV market?

For long, traditional players like Toyota Innova, Maruti Ertiga have been ruling the hearts of Indian consumers. This is a space where we're seeing a shift towards electrification and we are seeing this with the launch of the all electric BYD eMAX 7. An electric MPV with a 530 km range, the eMAX 7 is impressive. The 12.8 inch rotating touchscreen, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS are also included. But, it does start at a premium price of Rs 26.90 lakh. This begs the question: what will be its impact on the market given the high brand loyalty to existing players? Will the eMAX 7’s electric powertrain and feature list be enough to lure buyers away from the tried and tested? Or will charging infrastructure and long term reliability concerns keep it at bay?

Absolutely! This is exactly what the Indian MPV market needs. It's bringing electric tech to a segment which has been stuck in the ICE age for so long. That 530 km range is a game changer for families looking to travel long distances without having to worry about charging.
