One thing that wasn’t obvious until you ran into a few people who had owned one of the Hunter 350 is that, even with Royal Enfield’s notorious recent reliability then and consistent records now, the new Hunter seems even worse.
10 January 2025 12:16
It’s reliable if you stay on top of maintenance, I think. I’ve seen a lot of the issues from people not riding according to the service schedule or pushing the bike too hard too soon before the break in period is completed.
Is the Hunter 350's lighter weight and nimble handling somehow a trade off of the classic Royal Enfield 'feel' that we're used to?
10 January 2025 12:16
It's just different 'feel' but not necessarily worse. I think it's more playful and less intimidating, and will attract new riders to the brand. It's still got RE DNA, just evolved.
New owners of the KTM RC 200 GP often overlook the most underrated feature of the bike.
10 January 2025 10:40
It looks more comfortable to sit on the pillion seat than it actually is. At first my girlfriend was skeptical, but she ended up enjoying our rides.
How does the KTM RC 200 GP perform against bigger bikes in the real-world riding conditions?
10 January 2025 10:40
In real-world conditions, more than enough is the RC 200 GP in India. The fact is that you don’t use the full potential of bigger bikes anyway.
What’s the biggest surprise or oddity you’ve found in owning the KTM RC 200 GP?
10 January 2025 10:40
This can really take its toll on your wrists and back. To ride comfortably for long periods, you need to build up core strength.
Is the KTM RC 200 GP Edition worth its extra cost over the regular RC 200?
10 January 2025 10:40
Depends on what you value. If you dig racing aesthetics and don’t mind paying a premium, then go for it. However, if you don’t want to, just stick with the regular version.
How long can you go on a KTM RC 200 GP for compared to other sport bikes in its class?
10 January 2025 10:40
It's not a tourer; it's a sport bike. Long rides don't offer much comfort if that's what you're looking for, and you're looking at the wrong category of bikes.
Why does the KTM Duke 890 sport an overblown electronics package?
10 January 2025 10:24
But I love having all the options, particularly for track days. The ability to be able to fine-tune TC and ABS is a game changer for pushing your limits safely.
What can one do with the KTM Duke 890?
10 January 2025 10:24
Be careful with ECU tuning. I’ve heard horror stories about people bricking their bikes. If you are going to tinker with a KTM, stick with reputable tuners who know KTMs.
The KTM Duke 890—is it too much bike for newer riders, or can they handle it?
10 January 2025 10:24
Some new riders have done fine on 890s, and some experienced riders have gotten themselves in over their heads. It’s less about the bike and more about the person.
Is it worth worrying about reliability on the KTM Duke 890?
10 January 2025 10:24
Absolutely worth it! I've had my 890 over a year now with zero issues, and it's been a blast. It's unreal how it handles and how addictive the power delivery is. You just have to stay on top of the maintenance.
In real-world riding, how does the KTM Duke 890 compare to its rivals?
10 January 2025 10:24
If you’re just looking for pure commuting, I’d honestly give the edge to something like the Z900. The 890 is amazing, but it seems too much to use in stop-and-go traffic.
What does the extra cost get you with the KTM Duke 890 R's electronics package?
10 January 2025 10:16
If you can afford it, the R is the one that I would recommend. You will not use all the features right now, but you will enjoy them when you are good.
Reliability-wise, how does the KTM Duke 890 R compare to its Japanese rivals?
10 January 2025 10:16
They have come a long way, but they are not up to Japanese reliability standards. It’s sweet handling, but you’re giving up some peace of mind.
Is the KTM Duke 890 R good for long-distance touring?
10 January 2025 10:16
For weekend trips, it’s fine, but I wouldn’t want to cross the country on it. After a few hours, the wind blast gets tiring.
Does the KTM Duke 890 R live up to its ‘scalpel’ nickname on the track?
10 January 2025 10:16
It's a jack of all trades, but master of none. Good on track, but not great. But it’s more fun than most bikes you’ll find out there.
Is the KTM Duke 890 R an upgrade worth the upgrade from a 390 Duke?
10 January 2025 10:16
I honestly believe that it's overkill for most riders. There’s plenty of bike for the street in the 390, and you’re not going to be using the 890’s full potential.
Why is the KTM Duke 390 so unreliable?
10 January 2025 10:10
Reliability concerns are real, but they are not insurmountable, so long as you keep on top of maintenance. This is not a “set it and forget it” kind of bike.
How does the KTM Duke 390 compare to Japanese competitors?
10 January 2025 10:10
I've ridden the Duke and I've ridden the Z400. The Z400 takes more cues from a bike like a Nissan Cube, whereas the Duke feels more premium and techier, but overall the Z400 is the more refined of the two.
Is the KTM Duke 390 a beginner-friendly first bike?
10 January 2025 10:10
If you're a bigger person or have some dirt bike experience, the Duke 390 might work. However, for most beginners I would advise something a tad more tame.
