What mods do you absolutely need for the KTM Duke 390?
10 January 2025 10:10
The best 'mod' is really good maintenance. It's a classic; keep it stock, and take care of it, and you'll be happier in the long run.
Is the upgrade from previous generations worth it in the KTM Duke 390 Gen 3?
10 January 2025 10:10
I would say it depends on what riding style you have. The older gen could still be perfectly fine if you’re mostly commuting. The Gen 3 is shinier for enthusiasts and weekend warriors.
What are the most common issues FZ V3 owners have after 3-4 years of ownership?
10 January 2025 10:03
Over time the fuel injection gets a little finicky. It’s nothing major, but it can use a little attention every now and then to keep it running smoothly.
In 2025, is the FZ V3 a good platform to customize or modify?
10 January 2025 10:03
In fact, mods are actually better off now than they were when new. There’s tons of parts available and people have worked out all the quirks and best upgrades over the years.
Why are there tank panel issues with the FZ V3? Are people exaggerating when they say they’re bad?
10 January 2025 10:03
It’s made too much fuss of by people. Now, it’s not perfect, but if it does start to rattle, it’s a super easy DIY fix. There’s no need to avoid the whole bike because of it.
How does the FZ V3 compare to newer 200cc bikes in 2025, performance wise?
10 January 2025 10:03
It's definitely widened. Features like ride by wire and multiple riding modes are something that the FZ V3 can only dream of and that modern 200cc bikes readily offer.
Can the KTM Duke 690 R be used for long-distance touring?
10 January 2025 10:00
I hated touring on mine and tried it. So I sold it and got a proper adventure bike. The 690 R is one that’s best to leave as a fun second bike.
Is the KTM Duke 690 R a good beginner bike?
10 January 2025 10:00
I would call it a terrible first bike. It’s not the power; it’s the maintenance. A new rider should not be wrenching; they should be learning how to ride.
And is the KTM Duke 690 R really all that it's hyped up to be on twisty roads?
10 January 2025 10:00
There is real hype, but not without caveats. If you value handling over speed for its own sake, it's an amazing bike. You will just have to be prepared to do more maintenance.
What is the everyday riding comparison between the KTM Duke 690 R and the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto?
10 January 2025 10:00
If you live somewhere with lots of potholes or occasional dirt roads, the 701 is great. But the Duke is probably the better all rounder otherwise.
Why is the KTM Duke 690 R so unreliable?
10 January 2025 10:00
The concern about reliability is overblown. Yes, it requires more care than a Japanese bike, but it’s nowhere near the nightmare some people seem to make it out to be.
The FZ-10’s reliability compared to the Euro competitors BMW S1000R and Aprilia Tuono?
10 January 2025 08:33
They're all pretty close these days, I'd say. BMW and Aprilia have really closed the gap in terms of reliability. The real difference is that the Yamaha is usually cheaper to service.
Is the FZ 10 too much bike for everyday street riding or is it tame enough for an experienced rider?
10 January 2025 08:33
For the street, it’s definitely overkill. Of course you can ride it everyday, but you’re never even using half of what it can do. Why not get something smaller and a bit more fun to wring out?
How does the FZ-10 rate when it comes to long distance touring comfort in comparison to other naked bikes?
10 January 2025 08:33
I'd say that's middle of the pack. It’s better than a full on sportbike but not as comfortable as a Tracer or a BMW R1250RS. If you want something sporty but still want to be able to throw it on the back of the car for an occasional long trip, it's a good compromise.
What is the best sound and performance exhaust upgrade for the FZ 10?
10 January 2025 08:33
I'm running the M4 exhaust and could not be happier. It didn't break the bank, it had great sound, and it was noticeable that it saved weight. It’s also not as common as some of the other brands, so you’ll stand out a little more.
In 2025, is the FZ6R's lack of modern electronics a drawback, or a benefit?
10 January 2025 08:27
The electronics keep the price down, both for the purchase and the maintenance. For riders on a budget but who still want a bike that can do the job, it's a great option.
How does the FZ6R compare to dedicated tourers when used as a long distance tourer?
10 January 2025 08:27
Weekend trips are okay, but for serious touring you want a dedicated bike. The FZ6R is not a comfortable bike or one with very many features for really long hauls.
Is the FZ6R a good ride jack for a customization project?
10 January 2025 08:27
Subtle, tasteful mods are what the FZ6R is all about. It’s really something you can really enhance the strengths of without going overboard. But it’s all about finding that balance.
How does the FZ6R stack up against today’s 650cc twins in terms of real world rideability?
10 January 2025 08:27
Today's 650 twins are just better all around bikes. More than enough power for the street, better fuel economy, easier maintenance. Against this backdrop the FZ6R feels a bit dated.
Has the Yamaha FZ6R gone the way of the Dodo and become irrelevant in 2025, or is it still worth your time?
10 January 2025 08:27
Depends on what you're after. It’s still solid for a reliable commuter or beginner bike. If you’re after cutting edge tech, though, you’re out of luck.
