USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Bajaj Pulsar N250 is a compelling package for anyone looking for a versatile and practical motorcycle in India. My experience with this bike has been largely positive, with its refined 250cc engine providing smooth performance, especially in the mid-range, which is ideal for city commuting. The handling dynamics are phenomenal, making it highly maneuverable in traffic and enjoyable on twisty roads. However, there are a few caveats the seat cushioning can be too hard for long rides, and the absence of a sixth gear is noticeable on the highway. Despite these minor issues, the Pulsar N250s excellent fuel economy, effective headlight, and robust build quality make it a strong contender in its class. Overall, it strikes a great balance between performance, comfort, and efficiency, making it a great choice for daily riding.
Price
The Bajaj Pulsar N250 is priced competitively in the Indian market, with an ex-showroom price of around Rs 1.50 lakh. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to approximately Rs 1.70 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. Given its features, performance, and build quality, the Pulsar N250 offers great value for money. The recent updates, such as new graphics, configurable ABS, and a fully-digital cluster, further enhance its appeal without a significant increase in price, making it an attractive option for those seeking a reliable and feature-rich 250cc motorcycle.
Bajaj Pulsar N250 on road price is around 1.65 lakh.

In more controlled test conditions, the bike has been known to deliver up to 44 kmpl, making it one of the most fuel-efficient options in its class. This translates to a range of over 600 km on a single 14-litre tank, which is highly beneficial for both daily commuters and occasional long-distance riders. Bajaj Pulsar N250 Review

09 Nov, 2023 10:45 AM

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

The journey of Bajaj Pulsar is 20 years old and during this journey, Pulsar has always distinguished itself among the people. The round light Pulsar started in 2001 at 180 which has now reached the Pulsar F250 and Pulsar N250 in 2021. In these 20 years, the Pulsar brand has expanded its reign from 125cc to 250cc segment.

On October 28 last year, Pulsar completed its 20 years and on this occasion, Bajaj launched two new 250cc bikes in the Pulsar series in the Indian market. Bajaj Pulsar is listed among the five most influential bikes in modern Indian history.

The original Pulsars were game-changers that let Bajaj stand where the company is today, as a global motorcycle giant. Twenty years after the originals, today’s new Pulsars aim to change the game rather than enrich and enhance what the Pulsar has to offer.

Design and Style of Bajaj Pulsar N250

The new motorcycle features a completely fresh design with plenty of things resembling the existing Pulsar lineup. The differences between the naked N250 and the semi-faired F250 are clearly in the front. Both bikes share the same fuel tanks, side profile and tail section. The rear looks smart with a large split seat, a nice curve to the body panels as they meet the model version of the Classic Pulsar tail-lamp.

Bajaj Pulsar N250 Colour Options

Over at the front, both use the same projector LED headlamps but they get different running lamps. They both rather are nice looking machines although they are not super attention-grabbing. The New Pulsar N250 looks more youthful and sporty. It has a position headlamp with a bi-functional LED headlamp. It features a slim LED taillight, speedometer with digital display and a trip meter.

Engine and Gearbox of Bajaj Pulsar N250

New Bajaj Pulsar N250 has a 249.07cc oil-cooled, 2-valve engine that churns out 24.5 HP power at 8750 rpm and 21.5 Nm of top torque at 6500 rpm. Apart from that, the 249.07cc engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. A 14-litre fuel tank has been installed in the Bajaj Pulsar N250.

Instrument Console of Bajaj Pulsar N250

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 is equipped with a new instrument console that remains simple but looks classy with its analogue rev counter. The digital part of this new display now has useful things like a clock, a gear position indicator and a distance-to-empty gauge.

Brakes, Suspension and Tyres of Bajaj Pulsar N250

The wet weight of the new Bajaj Pulsar N250 is 162 kg. The length of this bike is 2035mm, width is 750mm, height is 1165mm and wheelbase is 1351mm. It has a ground clearance of 165mm and a seat height of 795mm. The front of the Bajaj Pulsar N250 has telescopic forks and rear has monoshock Nitrox suspension. Coming to the brake, it has single-channel ABS with a disc brake of 300mm in front and 230mm at the back. The Bajaj Pulsar N250 is fitted with a tubeless tyre of 100/80 at the front end and 130/70 at the back, along with 17-inch alloy wheels.

Key Features of Bajaj Pulsar N250

Some of the key 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 features include: Bi-functional LED Projector Headlamp, Assist and Slipper Clutch, Infinity Display Console, USB Mobile Charging Near the Tank Flap, Gear Position Indicator, Distance to Empty, Nitrox Suspension, Tubular Frame, Boomerang LED DRLs.

Top Speed and Mileage of Bajaj Pulsar N250

With its assist and slipper clutch and easily accessible performance, the New Pulsar N250 offers approx 130 kmph of top speed. As for fuel efficiency, the Pulsar 250 has an ARAI certified number of 35 kmpl and it goes from 0-100 kmph in around 10.5 seconds.

Colour Options of Bajaj Pulsar N250

The New Bajaj Pulsar N250 is available in three colour options Racing Red, Caribbean Blue, Techno Gray and all colours look awesome in their way.

On-Road Price Range of Bajaj Pulsar N250 in India

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 on-road price is Rs 1.62 lakh in Delhi, Rs 1.67 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 1.64 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 1.66 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Bajaj dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.

Difference Between Ex-Showroom Price & On-Road Price of Bajaj Pulsar N250

Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentages for the State Registration Charges.

Competitors of Bajaj Pulsar N250

The all-new 2024 Bajaj Pulsar 250 is in the race for power with Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha FZS 250, Bajaj Dominar 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, KTM Duke 250.

Verdict- Should You Buy Bajaj Pulsar N250?

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 looks like a comfortable city bike and runs quite well in the mid-range rpm level. However, N250 seems a little less flamboyant than the Pulsar F250. The engine response of both bikes at 4,000 to 7,000 rpm is excellent and looks quite responsive. From low speed to high speed, gear ratios are also excellent and the absence of 6th gear cannot be sensed in the N250. Even though the speed of N250 is lower than that of the F250 but overall, it offers you stable and accurate handling on highways and good roads. However, the dynamics of bikes at sharp corners will make you happy and it is one of the good options to consider if you are planning to buy a 250cc naked motorcycle for routine commuting.

Motorcycles are not cell phones. They need to have durability. When someone invest more than 1.5 lacs he is expecting a motorcycle which will run smooth for at least 5 yrs without basic maintenance. I spent more than 50k to maintain my RS200 in 3.5 Yrs finally with a heavy heart sold it off. Very very poor built quality of bajaj. I am really disappointed. I loved my bike so much. But for such a poor built quality I had to sell it off.
