Does the extra weight of the N250 make it less agile than the NS200?
The bike is a larger and heavier motorcycle than its smaller sibling, the NS200. It’s larger and heavier because of the larger engine, beefier frame and more features. Though it adds to the better stability at higher speeds, some riders are concerned if the added weight comes at the cost of the nimbleness and agility that made the NS200 so popular in the urban environment. The N250 vs N200 discussion usually centers around whether or not the N250 offers enough agility and handling to tackle tight traffic situations like the NS200 and if giving up a bit of agility is worth it for the extra power and features.
In tight traffic, yeah, you can definitely feel the extra weight. While not as flickable as the NS200, it’s still manageable.
I have ridden both and actually the difference is not that much. The extra kilos are made up for by the N250's better weight distribution.
In fact, the extra weight actually aids in high speed stability. While it might not be as nimble in the city, it feels way more confidence inspiring on highways.
Being a shorter rider, the N250 is a little more difficult to handle in parking lots. The NS200 was less difficult to handle at low speeds.
There is weight difference there, but the extra torque from the 250cc engine makes up for it. It just feels more planted, more mature than the NS200.
I feel that is a fair trade off. You get a bit of comfort, a bit of touring ability, but you lose a little bit of agility. Overall it's a more well rounded package.
I was worried about the weight coming from the NS200 but after a few rides you get used to it. The N250 doesn’t feel cumbersome, but it does feel more substantial.
