Vehicle Overview | Pulsar NS150 is the younger cousin of 200NS, also called as NS200 by most fans. It uses the same body as 200NS while uses the engine from Pulsar AS150. The motorcycle is currently being sold in some international markets and rivals Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ and Honda CB Hornet. Bajaj may relaunch the NS series in India, bringing the popular naked style Pulsar in two different engines. |

Bajaj Pulsar NS150 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Bajaj Autos had been planning for a fresh looking street fighter in the 150cc category. Named as the Pulsar NS150, the new motorcycle comes up with the attitude of the naked series. Bajaj has made it in such a way that it looks more like a lean NS200 than having its own identity. With the Pulsar DNA in its roots, the aggression of the bike blows away everything which comes in the way. Bajaj has not made any official announcement regarding the launch of NS150 in India. It is expected to be launched in India within the next 3-4 months. Bajaj Pulsar NS150 is expected to be priced around Rs. 75,000 (Ex-showroom).
Sharing the cuts and curves of 200 NS, this 150cc unit is more like an economical version for the same styling. Petal-shaped alloy wheels add up to the style and the fiery looks surely will shiver the enemies. Bajaj will fulfil everyone's wishes one by one and is expected to launch each engine size in every segment, matching everyone's pocket. Pulsar 150NS is said to be with the same console being used in the NS200. The semi-digital console is one of the best in the motorbike industry with an analogue tachometer in the centre and a digital speedometer at the right. Left houses all the indicator lights and the speedometer is also said to be digital.
The 149.5 cc engine of Pulsar NS150 produces 16.8 BHP @ 9500 rpm with 13 NM of torque @ 7000 rpm. Performance of the Pulsar family is what they have been known for and the 150 segment balances the mileage issues also. The new 150 NS would be a very nice sprinter. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Bajaj has opened new doors for the ones who were always scared by the fuel economy of the NS200 and died inside every day for its killing style appeal. The front end of Pulsar NS150 gets a 240mm disc brake and rear would be managed by a 130mm drum braking system. The front suspension is the telescopic type with a mono-shock absorber at the rear. For the front, 80/100-R17 would be used whereas the rear gets a 100/90-R17 size (tubeless). The width has been kept standard in order to reduce the engine effort against friction and this keeps a good balance between performance and safety.
The overall length of Pulsar 150NS is kept at 2070 mm with a width of 800 mm. The overall height is 1205 mm, making it a bit higher than the standard 150 cc offering. With a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres, the total wet weight counts at 140 kg. The ground clearance of the bike is 175mm and the wheelbase is 1363 mm. No statement on the mileage of Pulsar 150 NS has been provided by Bajaj autos, but we expect it to be a lower figure to that of current 150 due to the increase in power. An expectation of 40-50 kmpl would be a genuine estimate till the official release date. If effectively priced, the new Pulsar 150NS can be the game changer for Bajaj Autos. The sales have still being recorded with a downfall as the majority sections of the buyers are not the ones who cross a 1 lakh mark. The lovable 150 cc section provides ease to thousands of pockets and the bet on this one will surely make everyone smile.
