Does the Pulsar N250 live up to the legacy of the Pulsar 220F?
For many years the Bajaj Pulsar 220F has been a favourite with Indian motorcycle enthusiasts, renowned for its performance, versatility and value for money. Bajaj hopes to bring that same spirit with the introduction of the Pulsar N250 while modernizing the Pulsar lineup. This has caused riders to debate whether the N250 actually lives up to the reputation of the 220F. To some, it's a natural evolution of the N250's improved technology, power, and features. But to others, it's not the raw character with mod friendly nature that made the 220F so popular. The N250's ability to make people feel the same way about it as they did the 220F is often discussed, and whether it can reach the cult status the 220F enjoyed back in the day.
I’ve been a long time 220F owner and was skeptical but the N250 sold me. It's more refined, more powerful, better tech. It's a worthy upgrade.
The 220F is a great bike, but the N250 is missing the raw charm of it. It feels more... sanitized? The character of the 220F is something that's hard to reproduce.
It's not fair to me to compare them directly. It’s its own thing — the N250 is designed for today’s riders. It's not trying to be a 220F, and that is fine.
The N250 is the bike for now, but the 220F was ahead of its time. It's more practical for daily use than the 710 because it is better efficient, has subtle smoother engine and is modernized.
I chose the N250 over a used 220F as a newbie rider. It's easier to live with and more contemporary. I can see why the 220F has a cult following, but I can see why.
In every way technically superior, the N250 doesn't have that 'x factor' that made the 220F so special. The bike's great, just not as iconic.
I've owned both, the N250 is objectively better, but the 220F was more fun to mod and customize. Sometimes the N250 is a bit too polished.
Performance and feature wise, the N250 is a worthy successor, but it’s got some big shoes to fill with regards to building a community around it like the 220F did.
