Yamaha R7 Review
Overview
The new Yamaha YZF-R7 has been introduced globally and will replace the YZF-R6 in the brand's portfolio. The new Yamaha YZF-R7 has been introduced with a 689cc engine, along with an attractive design, modern features, etc. The 2023 Yamaha YZF-R7 has been made available in two colour options: Team Yamaha Blue and Performance Black. It is powered by the same engine as the MT-07, which produces 73.4 HP of power at 8,750 rpm and 67 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
It is combined with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch. Its CP2 cross-plane engine technology has been used in the engine. The cross-plane engine gets a 270-degree crank and an even firing order that offers linear power delivery and a distinct exhaust note. The bike uses a steel frame, which is the slimmest bodywork in Yamaha's supersport lineup. This makes the bike even more aerodynamic and stable at higher speeds. Its design has been kept similar to the R-series bikes.
It has a central air intake which comes with LED headlamps and Y-shaped LED DRLs on both sides. It gets LED taillamps, a windscreen, a clip-on handlebar, a 13-litre fuel tank and rear set footpegs for a good riding position. For suspension, it has a 41mm KYB USD fork at the front and a link-type mono-shock at the rear. The company has also changed the geometry of its chassis to improve its handling. Its wheelbase is 5mm shorter than the MT-07.
For braking on this bike, a dual disc brake of 298mm in front, a four-pot calliper and a disc brake of 245mm have been given at the rear. This bike has 17-inch alloy wheels. Talking about the features, a digital TFT display has been given, which provides a lot of information. It has dual-channel ABS and an optional one-way quick shifter. When it is released in India, the Yamaha YZF-R7 will compete with models such as the Aprilia RS 660.

User Reviews for Yamaha R-Series
Looks promising
The R7’s handling is even sportier than its looks suggest, with a lean angle of up to 51 degrees being achievable thanks to the revised suspension setup. The KYB upside down forks are fully adjustable for rebound and compression, with a cast aluminium top yoke and forged aluminium bottom. This, combined with the 5mm closer to the steering stem and 20mm wider than the MT-07’s setup, gives the R7 an impressive level of feel and stability when cornering.
The shock’s rising rate linkage also helps to lift the rear wheel for a sportier stance while providing adjustability for preload and rebound damping. The wheelbase is also reduced by 5mm to 1395mm, which further enhances the cornering capability. Overall, the R7 offers an incredible level of agility and confidence when tackling tight turns and twisties.

Yamaha R7 Discussion
The R7 is a great bike for those that want to have fun without having to worry about going too fast. It offers a smooth, comfortable ride without sacrificing any power. The engine is powerful enough to get you up to speed quickly, but not so powerful that you have to worry about losing control. It's perfect for those that want to enjoy the thrill of riding without having to worry about going too fast. The handling is tight and responsive, allowing you to carve through the corners at speed. The brakes are strong and reliable, ensuring you have the confidence to push the limits. The Yamaha R7 is the perfect bike for those who want to have some fun without having to worry about getting into too much trouble.
If you're looking for ultimate stopping power and feel, then the R7's brakes might not be for you. Yamaha's ABS set-up is certainly functional, but it lacks the powerful, responsive feel of more advanced braking systems. However, the chassis is a dream to ride and the engine is an absolute gem. With a smooth power delivery and plenty of torque, the R7 is an incredibly capable sports bike. Perfect for those looking for a bike that can handle a twisty road with ease, the Yamaha R7 is an impressive machine.
The R7 is a great bike to ride for those who want the performance of a sports bike, but don't want to sacrifice comfort. The clip-ons are low enough to keep the front end light but not too extreme, the pegs are high enough to avoid scraping, and the seat is 15mm lower than the old R6. The bike also offers great wind protection, and the mirrors are effective.
Do you guys think Yamaha should launch the R7 in India as a CKD model to compete with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650?
