Is the 2 channel ABS on the Pulsar N250 overkill for a 250cc bike?

The Bajaj Pulsar N250 gets a 2 channel ABS system, which is usually seen on bigger motorcycles. Because this is an advanced braking system and it applies for front and rear wheels, this could give better control and safety. But some riders contend that a 250cc motorcycle doesn’t require such a sophisticated system, given its power output and the situations in which it’s usually used. Some think it's a welcome safety feature that adds to the whole riding experience. The discussion revolves around whether there is a meaningful safety benefit for the typical rider, and the cost-benefit ratio of putting this technology on a bike in this segment.

No, not overkill at all. It doesn't matter what engine size, safety should never be compromised. With the 2 channel ABS you have that extra bit of confidence when the emergency situation comes up or in wet conditions.

I'd say it's a bit much. It would have been enough with a single channel ABS, which would have allowed keeping the price lower. After all, most riders in this segment are budget conscious.

I’m all for it, as someone who’s had a few close calls. It is better to have it and not need it, than to not have it and need it. It’s also a great learning tool for newer riders.

Of course it's overkill for city riding, but if you're planning long trips or getting into twisties, that extra braking control could be a lifesaver.

I think it's more future proofing. Bajaj is smart to introduce it now, since regulations are getting stricter. It will soon become the norm anyway.

Honestly, it's a marketing gimmick. In real world scenarios, most riders won’t even notice the difference between single and dual channel ABS.

I am a mechanic and I like the 2 channel system. Compared to a single channel setup, it’s easier to diagnose, and maintain. Also, it is more effective at preventing wheel lock ups.
