Yamaha YZF-R1S

About
The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 is a cutting-edge superbike that embodies the essence of Yamahas racing heritage. Powered by a 998cc inline-four-cylinder engine with a crossplane crankshaft, it delivers 200 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed transmission. The bike features advanced electronics, including an inertial measurement unit (IMU) that facilitates cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control. The new carbon fibre winglets add both aesthetic and functional value, enhancing downforce during cornering and hard acceleration. The suspension has been updated with a revised KYB front fork for the standard R1 and Öhlins suspension for the R1M, ensuring superior handling. Brembo Stylema callipers provide enhanced braking performance. While it does not meet BS6.2 emission norms and is thus limited to track use in India, the YZF-R1 remains a dream machine for serious motorcycle enthusiasts.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 is a pinnacle of superbike engineering, but its viability in the Indian market is somewhat limited due to emission regulations. Despite this, the bike is a marvel of technology and performance. The addition of carbon fibre winglets, inspired by Yamahas MotoGP YZR-M1, enhances both its visual appeal and aerodynamic performance. The updated KYB front fork on the standard R1 and the Öhlins suspension on the R1M ensure superior handling and stability. The Brembo Stylema callipers provide robust braking power, although they fall slightly short of the latest Brembo Hypure brakes. The 998cc inline-four-cylinder engine, producing 200 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, is a powerhouse that delivers exhilarating performance. However, the fact that it does not comply with BS6.2 emission norms means it can only be considered for track use in India, which may deter some potential buyers.
Price
The price of the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 in India is expected to be around 20 lakhs ex-showroom. When you factor in additional costs such as registration, insurance, and road tax, the on-road price could easily exceed 23 lakhs. This places the YZF-R1 in the premium segment of superbikes, competing directly with other high-performance bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Honda CBR1000RR-R, and Ducati Panigale V4. While the price is steep, it reflects the advanced technology, superior performance, and the prestige associated with owning a Yamaha YZF-R1. However, the track-only status due to emission non-compliance might affect its overall value proposition for some buyers.
Latest Updates
Saturday, 28 September 2024 08:57 PM The pricing for the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 has been set at $18,999, while the YZF-R1M will be available for $27,699. These prices reflect the premium nature of these bikes. I think the R1M is worth the extra cost for its advanced features.
Wednesday, 18 September 2024 07:13 AM The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M will not be available in Europe due to Euro5+ compliance issues, but they will continue to be sold in other markets like the USA. This decision highlights the ongoing challenges in meeting stringent emission standards. I think this move might push Yamaha to innovate more in the future.
Wednesday, 18 September 2024 08:45 AM Yamaha has introduced new carbon fiber aerodynamic winglets for the 2025 YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M, developed in collaboration with their MotoGP program. These winglets are designed to enhance downforce and front-end feel during braking and cornering. This update shows Yamahas commitment to performance.
Wednesday, 18 September 2024 04:18 PM The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 will feature new Brembo Stylema monobloc front brake calipers and a Brembo master cylinder, significantly improving braking performance. This change addresses a long-standing issue with the previous braking system. I believe this will make a big difference for riders.
Wednesday, 18 September 2024 12:43 PM The standard 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 will receive a fully redesigned 43mm KYB front fork, aiming to improve response, road feel, and chassis performance. This update is crucial for maintaining the bikes competitive edge.
Wednesday, 18 September 2024 11:40 PM The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1M will continue to feature Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS), which adjusts front and rear damping in real-time based on data from the motorcycles IMU. This sophisticated suspension system is a key differentiator for the R1M.
Wednesday, 18 September 2024 11:58 AM The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M will retain their 998cc CP4 engines with crossplane crankshaft technology but will see no major power output increases. This maintains the bikes performance profile but doesnt push the boundaries further.
Tuesday, 03 September 2024 07:48 AM Yamaha has confirmed that they are working on a next-generation YZF-R1, which will be a significant update to the current model that has been around since 2015. This new model is expected to address current shortcomings in power and electronics. Im excited to see what Yamaha has in store.
Tuesday, 03 September 2024 10:21 PM The current-generation YZF-R1, despite its age, has seen considerable success in racing championships, including the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship. This success underscores the bikes performance capabilities.
Tuesday, 03 September 2024 08:32 AM Yamahas General Manager, Hirotoshi Noguchi, emphasized that supersport bikes like the YZF-R1 are symbolic and important for the brand, even if they dont sell in high numbers. This commitment to the segment is reassuring for fans.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 10:52 AM The mileage of the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 in India is not a primary concern for most buyers, given its track-focused nature. However, for those interested, the bikes fuel efficiency is typically around 10-15 kml, which is standard for high-performance superbikes. Running costs will be high due to the premium fuel it requires and the maintenance costs associated with its advanced technology and high-performance components. If youre considering this bike, be prepared for significant running costs, but the thrill and performance it offers make it a worthwhile investment for serious enthusiasts.

I have never seen such a superbike like this style. Yamaha is my favorite bike company since when I know about all bike companies. The Yamaha r1 comes with more power and more mileage and is more attractive than other superbikes. This Bike is so good for a rider. And this is also my Dream Bike .because I am not a good height, I can buy it but I can't drive it well because of my height.
