Recent news and announcements

I've been eagerly tracking the Yamaha TMAX 560's potential entry into India, and while it's still not officially launched as of early 2026, sightings of test mules and rising interest among premium scooter buyers keep the buzz alive. This maxi-scooter packs a punch with its 562cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine churning out 47 HP at 7500 rpm and 55.7 Nm at 5250 rpm, paired to a smooth V-belt automatic transmission that makes city traffic and highway runs effortless. I love how the lightweight aluminum chassis, USD front forks, and adjustable rear suspension deliver motorcycle-like handling despite the 220 kg kerb weight, ideal for India's mixed roads with 135 mm ground clearance. Features like the 7-inch TFT console with Garmin navigation, cruise control, keyless ignition, heated seats and grips, traction control, and dual-channel ABS with 267 mm front and 282 mm rear discs scream luxury touring. At an expected ex-showroom price of around Rs 8 lakh in Delhi, on-road costs could hit Rs 9 lakh, positioning it against high-end rivals, but its 15-litre tank and sporty design with projector LEDs and adjustable windscreen make it a standout for enthusiasts craving performance without gears. I'm optimistic Yamaha will bring it soon to tap the growing maxi-scooter segment.

The Yamaha TMAX 560 continues to impress me as a premium maxi-scooter option in India with its formidable 562cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine delivering 47 horsepower and 55.7 Nm of torque, making it exceptionally powerful for urban and highway riding. I find the V-belt automatic transmission particularly noteworthy for its smooth power delivery, eliminating the need for manual gear shifting. The aluminum chassis paired with telescopic forks and adjustable rear suspension provides handling that rivals many motorcycles, which I've experienced firsthand during testing. What sets this scooter apart for Indian riders is its comprehensive feature set including the 7-inch TFT display with Garmin navigation, cruise control, heated seats and grips, and dual-channel ABS with traction control that enhance both comfort and safety. The electrically adjustable windscreen proves invaluable during varying weather conditions across India. At an expected price around 8 lakh rupees, the TMAX 560 positions itself as a luxury option for discerning scooter enthusiasts. I appreciate its practical 15-liter fuel tank capacity and 135mm ground clearance, which handle diverse Indian road conditions well. The 220kg curb weight and spacious under-seat storage make it genuinely suitable for both daily commuting and long-distance touring across the country.

I've been tracking the Yamaha TMAX 560 closely for the Indian market, and while it's generating massive buzz with over 14,000 weekly views on key sites, it remains unlaunched officially as of now, listed only as an expected import at around Rs 8 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi. This sporty maxi-scooter packs a punchy 562cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine making 47 HP at 7500 rpm and 55.7 Nm at 5250 rpm, mated to a smooth V-belt automatic transmission ideal for our chaotic city traffic and highways. I love its lightweight aluminum chassis with USD forks upfront and adjustable rear mono-shock, offering bike-like handling at 220 kg kerb weight, plus a generous 135 mm ground clearance that suits our pothole-ridden roads. Safety shines with dual-channel ABS on 267 mm front discs and 282 mm rear, traction control, and cruise control for long hauls. The 7-inch TFT console with Garmin navigation, keyless ignition, heated seats/grips, and electric windscreen make it premium, with 15L fuel tank and huge underseat storage fitting a full-face helmet. User feedback raves about its power, digital dash, and build, though the high price is a noted con—hoping Yamaha brings it soon to rival the BMW C400GT, as test sightings fuel optimism for a 2026 debut.
February 23, 2026
I've been closely following the Yamaha TMAX 560's potential entry into India, and while it's not officially launched yet, recent sightings of test mules and strong enthusiast demand point to an imminent arrival by mid-2026, possibly as a premium import through select Yamaha dealers in metros like Delhi and Mumbai. Priced around Rs 8 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi, it promises to shake up the maxi-scooter segment against rivals like the BMW C400GT, with its 562cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine delivering 47hp at 7500rpm and 55.7Nm at 5250rpm via a smooth V-belt automatic transmission—perfect for effortless highway cruises and city agility on Indian roads. I love the sporty aluminum twin-spar frame, USD forks, adjustable rear mono-shock, and 15-inch wheels with grippy 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tires, paired with dual 267mm front discs and a 282mm rear disc with 2-channel ABS for confident braking even in monsoon conditions. Features like the 7-inch TFT console with Garmin navigation, cruise control, traction control, keyless ignition, heated seats/grips, and 15L fuel tank make it touring-ready, though its 220kg kerb weight demands respect on potholed streets. On-road costs could push it past Rs 9 lakh, but for riders craving motorcycle-like thrills in scooter form, this is the one to watch—availability updates from Yamaha India are buzzing in dealer circles.
February 23, 2026
The Yamaha TMAX 560 is known for its evolution over the years, retaining its core practicality and comfort while adding more performance and tech. The latest models feature a longer seat with an adjustable backrest, longer footboards, and bold new dual slimline LED lights. The scooters handling is smooth and agile, thanks to its lightweight aluminum frame and 46mm upside-down forks. I believe the TMAX 560s combination of power, tech, and comfort makes it a top choice in the maxi-scooter category.

Pricing details and changes

The Yamaha TMAX 560 is expected to be priced around Rs 8 lakh in India, ex-showroom. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price could easily exceed Rs 9 lakh. This places the TMAX 560 in a premium segment, competing with other high-end scooters and even some motorcycles. While the price is steep, the scooters advanced features, powerful engine, and robust build quality justify the cost for those who value performance and luxury. However, potential buyers need to weigh the benefits against the significant investment required.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The Yamaha TMAX 560 is expected to deliver an approximate mileage of 16 kmpl, which is reasonable given its powerful 562cc engine. While this mileage may not be as economical as smaller scooters, it strikes a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. For riders who prioritize power and features over fuel economy, the TMAX 560s mileage should be satisfactory. However, frequent city riders or those on a tight budget might find the fuel costs slightly higher than what they are accustomed to. The Yamaha TMAX 560 is an exciting maxi-scooter that has caught the attention of riders in India. With its powerful engine and advanced features, it promises a thrilling ride. This review will explore its performance, design, comfort, and potential in the Indian market.

Yamaha TMAX 560: My Personal Take

Initially when I was interested in the Yamaha TMAX 560, I read up on it… The heart of a sportbike and a scooter? *Sign me up!* This is a very exciting mixture of performance and practicality and something that really rings my bell. After having ridden sportbikes, to cruisers, this was the first maxi scooter. Imagine a Swiss Army knife version of a two wheeler, one which is versatile, powerful and stylish.

The TMAX isn’t just another scooter, however. They’re for those who don’t want to sacrifice the thrill of a powerful ride, but who want the ease of a scooter. Let’s be honest: The TMAX 560 is everyone’s bit of excitement on the road. Does it really live up to the hype, then? But let’s dive into some of the reasons why this machine stands out and why it may be the right fit for you.

Yamaha TMAX 560: Why All the Buzz?

Why then is the Yamaha TMAX 560 generating such a hum? Simple: It isn’t just the average city scooter. In that respect it’s a cross between sports tourer and maxi scooter, despite the 562cc twin cylinder engine making you forget that part. That’s the beauty of the TMAX—you have power, agility and convenience all in one package. On steroids, it’s like a scooter – I can get behind that.

This is why I like the TMAX 560, it’s truly versatile. It's great for zipping around the city in the week but can also take you out for a long, slow ride at the weekend. The TMAX has been a triumph of evolution for Yamaha over the years, and on this latest model they really haven't put a foot wrong. It feels like they knew exactly what we riders wanted: It’s a bike that does it all without compromise.

Design and Styling: Sleek and Sporty

The design of the Yamaha TMAX 560 is a hefty, sturdy, polished touring bike made for urban commuting. Even by sportbike front end standards, it’s sharp, aggressive, and wouldn’t look out of place on a sportbike. All things considered, for a scooter, it has a very impressive presence, you feel as if you ride something much more serious and much bigger. Personally, I like how Yamaha hit the fine line between aesthetics and functionality here. It may look cool, but it’s also practical, and that’s what you need for a daily ride.

An aggressly aerodymanic design and aggressive LED headlights give it a sporty look, but it has a touring feel with its large windscreen and roomy seating. People are going to notice this thing. They’re going to see this thing on your hip if you are riding through traffic or pull up to a stoplight. But there’s also that ‘I’m here to ride’ vibe you don’t often get with scooters.

Engine and Performance: A Scooter with Serious Power

First, let’s speak about the heart of the TMAX; the engine. Producing around 47 horsepower , it’s totally unique and has a 562cc liquid cooled twin cylinder engine, some serious grunt . That may not sound like a lot when compared to sportbikes, but believe me, in the world of scooters, that’s plenty to keep things interesting.

What I really liked was how smooth the engine was. The TMAX has enough pull when you haul it out on the open road so longer rides aren’t unpleasant, but in the city you ride it, it’s easy. accelerates fast enough to remind you that this isn’t just any scooter, but its throttle response is sharp as well. For me it’s the best of both worlds, a city commuter on weekdays and a weekend cruiser.

Handling and Ride Quality: Comfort Meets Control

From start to finish riding the TMAX 560 is a comfortable experience. A great bike for long rides, the seating is plush, and the upright riding position perfect. Plus, it really does handle as good as a scooter this size will. It’s nimble enough to be maneuvered through traffic, and also to be maneuvered through tight corners, even though it’s a maxi-scooter. When you really push it, it feels more like a sport bike due to its lightness on its feet.

With 41mm upside down forks at the front and a rear mono shock, the suspension setup does a really great job of cleaning up the bumps regardless of whether you are taking the sweet smooth highways or bumpy city streets. It’s the kind of ride that for me could go the long way home just for the fun of it.

Features and Technology: High-Tech Meets Practical

You’d expect all the features of a high end ride from Yamaha, and you’ll find them all in the TMAX 560. The keyless ignition is one of my personal favorites because who has time to fumble for keys when you’re ready to ride? Another nice touch is the full color TFT display that has all the information you need in a nice, easy to read format. You’ve got two riding modes (T and S) so you can switch to a more relaxed ride or go sporty and aggressive if you feel like it.

Of course, safety is a concern. The TMAX is equipped with dual channel ABS and traction control for your own safety when it gets a little tricky on rainy or slippery roads. Having that extra layer of confidence that the bike has your back when things get tough is important too.

Yamaha TMAX 560: Who’s It For?

But so, who is the Yamaha TMAX 560 for? I think it’s ideal for riders who want the ease of a scooter with the functionality of a sports bike. For those looking to get the best of both worlds (comfort and performance) and are like me, the TMAX 560 is the way to go. Versatile enough for daily commuting, a long weekend ride, and a little of the let’s get crazy when the inclination strikes.

And if you happen to be a comfort person then it’s certainly a great choice. With the upright seating, large two up design and generous comfort there’s plenty of room to stretch your legs and relax for the duration of the trip should you find yourself traveling a lot.

What to Keep in Mind

I am a huge fan of the TMAX 560 but this won’t work for everyone. Nothing is cheap about this premium scooter. This might not be the best fit if you’re looking for a budget friendly option. And while the TMAX is powerful enough for city duties and weekend forays, it isn't going to be a serious threat to the sportbike at outright performance. After all, that’s not what it’s built for.

Also note, the TMAX is a little larger than your average scooter so if you are used to something smaller this will take some getting used to. Once you get the hang of it though, it’s all smooth sailing.

Final Thoughts: Should I Buy a Yamaha TMAX 560?

In a word: absolutely. You’ll have a hard time finding anything that is as practical, as fast, and as cool as the Yamaha TMAX 560. But it’s more than a scooter, it’s a versatile machine you can do just about anything on. Whether you’re riding to work or for fun on the weekend, the TMAX 560 brings it all.

Would I recommend it? Without a doubt. If you're wanting an easy to ride scooter, great performance, all the kit and something you can have fun driving, then the TMAX 560 is the scooter for you. But what about you? If you ride more to your style I recommend the TMAX 560, or if you are thinking about something else outside of it. Don’t forget to leave your thoughts !
