Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |

Hero Xtreme 160R Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
The Hero Xtreme 160R is the renowned two-wheeler manufacturer's premium commuter motorcycle offering for Indian customers. The Hero Xtreme 160R BS6, which was released in 2020, impresses customers with its torque-rich engine, wide seating capacity, and fuel-efficient powertrain. Hero MotoCorp is known for aggressively pricing its motorcycles, and the Xtreme 160R is no exception. The new Hero Xtreme 160R is the second most affordable motorcycle in its class, with the Apache 160 2V being the most affordable.
Hero Xtreme 160R Design and Style
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R is a traditional street fighter with a few cutting-edge features. The all-LED lighting appears to be very modern and sleek. The headlights and taillights have been blackened to give it a more traditional appearance. The bike is small, but it has a wide stance. The tank and the side panels are joined. The spoked wheels and heel-plated footrests have a sporty appearance. The front fender and single-piece seat give the bike a muscular and peppy appearance. A digital console is also available. The headlamp has a strong beam that highlights rather than illuminates the road ahead. The pillion seat and grab rails are also integrated into the bike's smoked tail lights section. The new Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 lacks a pillion backrest but does have a pillion grabrail, seat, and footrest and there is no storage in the front seat or under the seat.
Hero Xtreme 160R Engine and Gearbox
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R is powered by a 163cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, 2 valve single cylinder OHC with fuel injection. It has a 2-valve head despite not being part of Hero Motors' 200 cc range. The Hero Xtreme 160R has a maximum power output of 15 HP at 8500 Revolutions per minute and a maximum torque output of 14 Nm at 6500 Revolutions per minute. The 5-speed transmission never skips a beat and the engine of the Hero Xtreme 160R performs best in medium ranges but struggles to continue smoothly when reaching triple-digit speeds.
Hero Xtreme 160R Suspension, Brakes and Tyres
The ABS on the new Hero Xtreme 160R is a single channel. The front disc brakes are 276mm in diameter, while the rear drum brakes are 130mm in diameter. The tubeless alloy wheels are 17 inches in diameter. The front calliper is a two-piston, while the rear calliper is a single-piston. The front suspension is equipped with an anti-friction bush and telescopic forks. The rear suspension is a mono-shock with seven adjustable settings. The MRF tyres have excellent grip and offer good stability even when cornering and braking hard. During traffic, the handling is simple and light. The front tyre pressure for both the rider and the pillion passenger is set at 28 psi and the pressure in the rear tyres is also 28 psi.
Instrument Console of Hero Xtreme 160R
It has a touchscreen digital console and adjustable brightness. In large legible font sizes, the LCD display console displays the numerical values of your tachometer, odometer, trip metre, speedometer, and fuel gauge. A digital clock and a pass switch are also included. XSens Technology, Auto Sail Technology, and Side Stand Engine Cut-off Technology are also available. It lacks Bluetooth and mobile app connectivity. The new Hero Xtreme 160R also lacks GPS navigation. It has a kill switch as well as hazard lights. The digital console has low fuel and oil indicators, but no low battery indicator.
Key Features of Hero Xtreme 160R
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R is the first bike in its class to feature all-LED lighting, including LED headlamps, taillights, and turn indicators. The headlamp has a strong and wide beam spread, but the high beam is focused higher, rather than lighting up the road ahead. The Xtreme 160R, like others, gets a digital instrument console. In terms of safety features, the streetfighter comes standard with single-channel ABS across the board.
Top Speed and Mileage of Hero Xtreme 160R
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R has a top speed of 115 km/h, and a great acceleration rate, going from 0 to 60 km/h in only 4.7 seconds. On the other hand, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 20 seconds. The city fuel efficiency of the Hero Xtreme 160R is 55.47 km/l, and the highway fuel efficiency is 47.38 km/l. This makes the bike more suitable for driving on city streets.
Hero Xtreme 160R Colour Options
Hero offers new Xtreme 160R in 5 different colour schemes namely, Xtreme Stealth Edition, Pearl Silver White, Vibrant Blue, Sports Red and 100 Million Limited Edition.
Hero Xtreme 160R Competitors
Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Honda X-Blade, Suzuki Gixxer 155, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and Yamaha FZ-S FI are some of the similar bikes that rival the new Hero Xtreme 160R.
Conclusion
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R appeared to be the antidote to my concerns. I had a great time riding the motorcycle for three days. Here's one Hero bike I'd gladly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade from a 110-125cc bike. While the Xtreme 160R's top-end performance isn't its main selling point, it does have a lot of good features. For the demographic it is aimed at (youngsters aged 18-30), the bike provides adequate performance and braking, while the design is also in line with industry standards. Finally, after a long wait, a good-looking Hero bike. It is fuel-efficient and has a five-year warranty.
