Triumph Bonneville T120 Black
About
The Triumph Bonneville T120 Black is a meticulously crafted motorcycle that combines the classic appeal of the Bonneville lineage with modern engineering. At the heart of this bike is a 1200cc parallel-twin engine that produces 79bhp and 105Nm of torque, making it a joy to ride in city conditions with its immediate and flat power delivery. The bike features a six-speed transmission with an adjustable slipper clutch, ensuring smooth gear shifts. The suspension, though on the softer side, is well-suited for Indian roads and absorbs undulations effectively. Safety features include ABS, switchable traction control, and ride-by-wire system with Road and Rain modes. Additional comforts like heated grips (though less useful in Indias climate) and a USB charger under the seat add to the bikes practicality. With its excellent brakes, grippy Pirelli Phantom Sport Comp tires, and a stylish yet functional design, the T120 Black is a compelling choice for anyone looking for a premium, retro-styled motorcycle.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Triumph Bonneville T120 Black is a stellar addition to the Bonneville family, offering a blend of classic styling and modern technology. My experience with this bike has been nothing short of impressive, with its 1200cc parallel-twin engine delivering exceptional torque and a smooth power delivery. The bikes ergonomics are well-thought-out, making it comfortable for riders of various heights, and the suspension, although on the softer side, handles Indian roads admirably. However, its not without its quirks the bike can feel unsettled at high speeds and cornering isnt its forte due to its weight and rake angle. Despite these minor drawbacks, the T120s excellent brakes, traction control, and ride-by-wire system make it a reliable and enjoyable ride. For those seeking a retro-styled bike with modern amenities, the T120 is an excellent choice.

The 2021 update of the Bonneville T120 Black saw significant enhancements, including a 7kg weight reduction, new lightweight aluminium wheel rims, and higher specification Brembo brakes. These changes have improved the bikes handling and agility, making it the best-handling Bonneville T120 ever. I think these updates have really elevated the riding experience of this iconic bike.

The Bonneville T120 Black features a 1200cc High Torque parallel twin engine with a 270° firing interval, along with advanced technology such as cruise control, switchable traction control, and ABS. The bike also boasts a tough blacked-out finish from the engine to the exhaust, giving it a dark and sophisticated look. I believe the combination of performance and style makes this bike a standout in its class.

Triumph has emphasized the service efficiency of the Bonneville T120 Black, with a high service interval of 10,000 miles or 16,000 kilometers, or 12 months, whichever comes first. This reduces the ongoing cost of ownership and makes the bike more practical for regular riders. I think this is a great feature for those who want to spend more time riding and less time in the garage.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 09:37 PM
When it comes to mileage, the Triumph Bonneville T120 Black is not designed to be a fuel-sipper but rather a performance-oriented bike. In real-world conditions in India, you can expect an average fuel efficiency of around 20-25 kml, depending on your riding style and the terrain. City riding, with its stop-and-go traffic, will naturally yield lower mileage compared to highway cruising. However, the bikes fuel tank capacity of 14.5 liters ensures you have a decent range before needing to refuel. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient option, the T120s performance and comfort make it a worthwhile trade-off for many riders. Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |

It's a bike which I have been using almost daily and have no complains whatsoever. The build quality is top notch and will last for a generation.
