Latest Updates
Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd has removed the Intruder 150 cruiser motorcycle from its official website, confirming that the bike has been discontinued at last. Originally launched back in 2017, the Intruder 150 drew visual inspiration from the bigger Intruder M800 and M1800 motorcycles, and made use of the same powertrain as the Gixxer 150.
Launched in late 2017, the Suzuki Intruder 150 was the Japanese manufacturer’s answer to the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise. Now, a little over four years later, Suzuki has pulled the plug on the cruiser-styled motorcycle. The reason for the discontinuation of the Intruder 150 is its sales which have been falling rapidly since early 2021. Even though it was priced nearly Rs 10,000 lesser than the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220, which costs Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom), the latter is more powerful. Moreover, the Intruder’s rather unconventional styling could also be another reason for its downfall.

Suzuki Intruder 150 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
Suzuki Motorcycle India, Private Limited, Suzuki Japan's wholly-owned Indian affiliate, introduced the Intruder in 2017. Suzuki, a newcomer to the Indian auto industry, wants to startle shoppers with an extreme style inspired by the larger M800. Like it or dislike it, the Intruder is undeniably eye-catching. In terms of engine, suspension, and chassis, the Suzuki Gixxer 150cc now delivers higher fuel efficiency, thanks to the installation of fuel injection to the engine to fulfil BS6 emission requirements. To differentiate itself from the competition, the new 150cc Suzuki Intruder features graceful cruiser traits and high-end ergonomics.
Suzuki Intruder 150 Design and Style
The Suzuki Intruder 150 has enough visual heft to catch the attention of onlookers. The design is bulgy and curved, but it is contemporary. As you go closer to this bike, you can smell the plushness. A wide cowl surrounds a triangular-shaped headlamp with LED DRLs at the front. Next up is a bulbous tank with huge extensions and a curving and broader seat for maximum comfort. The seat's material, size, and design are all satisfactory. The bike gets a deluxe Intruder emblem on the side, which adds shine to its overall visual attractiveness. A dual-exhaust arrangement is near the end for increased exhaust efficiency. The exhausts are distinctively designed and adorned with silver plastic wrapping, lending the bike an upscale appearance. At the back, a modest LED tail lamp adds a delicate finishing touch. The LED lights are arranged horizontally so that they do not interfere with the overall appearance of the Intruder 150.
Suzuki Intruder 150 Engine and Gearbox
The Intruder 150cc cruiser is Suzuki's replacement cruiser model for the Gixxer 150, and it shares the same 150cc engine. In terms of engine characteristics, the Intruder obtains the same combination of impressive performance, decent economy, and superb refinement as the Suzuki Gixxer 150cc model. It is, however, not quite comparable to the engine specifications of the Suzuki Gixxer. The engine in the Suzuki Intruder 150cc can produce a maximum output of 13.6 HP at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.8 Nm at 6000 rpm. The Suzuki Intruder 150 engine is coupled to a 5-speed transmission. The Suzuki Intruder 150 differs from the standard model by having a larger air box and a completely modified exhaust system. The engine of the bike is powered by SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance), also known as Suzuki's next-generation engine, which is noted for its low fuel consumption and superior acceleration.
Suzuki Intruder 150 Suspension, Brakes and Tyres
The Suzuki Intruder 150 Fi is built on a single down-tube chassis, with telescopic forks in the front and a swing arm at the rear handling suspension duties. A 266 mm disc at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear provide a stopping force. It comes with a front 100/80-17 section tyre and a rear 140/60-17 section tyre. The ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) that comes standard on the Intruder 150 gives the rider and pillion confidence and safety. It automatically regulates braking force and prevents wheel locking on slippery surfaces, bumpy road shapes, and even when stopping quickly. There are discs in the front and back that help with safety.
Instrument Console of Suzuki Intruder 150
The Intruder 150 receives a clever full-digital instrument cluster with the same RPM indicator as to the Hayabusa. The LCD display is relatively tiny and displays all the important readings that the rider needs to know during and after a ride. When the ignition is turned on, the text "READY GO" shows after the display animation concludes. The display is small, and you must figure out what/how/where the presented information is the first time you see it. There are much too many plastic panels (20 in all), which may cause purchasers anxiety. Given the conditions of Indian roads, it will only be a matter of time before these panels rattle or possibly fracture.
Key Features of Suzuki Intruder 150
Single Channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), All-Digital Instrument Console, Premium Backrest, Double Barrel Exhaust System, a triangular-shaped headlamp with LED position lamp, premium Intruder emblem on the tank, chunky rear cowl with LED tail lamp, bucket-style rider seat, chrome rear view mirrors, telescopic forks and an 11L fuel tank are some of the key features of the Suzuki Intruder 150.
Top Speed and Mileage of Suzuki Intruder 150
Suzuki Intruder 150 mileage is 45 km/l (approximate) and in terms of performance, the 155cc cruiser bike can speed up from 0 to 100 km/h in around 15 seconds at the top speed of 115 km/h (real top speed figure).
Suzuki Intruder 150 Colour Options
Suzuki offers Intruder 150 in 3 different colours; Metallic Matte Titanium Silver, Metallic Matte Black & Candy Sonama Red, Glass Sparkle Black & Metallic Matte Titanium Silver.
Suzuki Intruder 150 Competitors
Bajaj Avenger Street 160, Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220, Benelli Imperiale 400, BMW R NineT Scrambler, Honda Hness CB350, JAWA Perak, JAWA Forty-Two, Kawasaki Z650 RS, Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Meteor 350 are some of the top rivals to the Suzuki Intruder 150.
Conclusion
The Suzuki Intruder 150 looks nothing like its opponent, which is one of its advantages. The Intruder 150, with its design language developed from the massive M1800R, turns heads everywhere it goes. The Intruder 150 is an appealing product because of its all-around chassis and proven 155cc power plant. Aside from that, it has ABS power, which is a really reassuring trait to have. Suzuki Intruder 150 is the greatest entry-level cruiser on the Indian market.
