Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

Keeway, a Hungarian two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched its K-Light 250V cruiser bike in India. In May 2022, Benelli's sister company Keeway made its debut in the country with the introduction of three new products: the Keeway K-Light 250V, the Keeway Vieste 300, and the Keeway Sixties 300i.

Keeway is currently owned by the Qianjiang Group, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer that also owns Benelli. Keeway was founded in 1999 and claims to have sold products in 98 countries. Keeway also revealed that all of its products would be assembled at the Adishwar Auto Ride India facility in Telangana's Hyderabad, which handles Benelli's operations in the country. The company also stated that its new K-Light bike would be imported Completely Knocked Down (CKD) and assembled in the United States.

K-Light 250V Design and Style

The new Keeway K-Light resembles a modified version of the Bajaj Avenger or even Harley Davidson roadsters in terms of design. Furthermore, K-Light has a largely minimalistic design and a retro profile, which is complemented by its round headlamp, turn indicators, and tail light. The new K-Light features a sculpted 20-litre tank, an instrument cluster, a contoured rider seat, dual exhaust pipes, and a swingarm-mounted mudguard.

The 250V is a cruiser motorcycle with a steeply raked front end, stepped seat design, and forward-set footpegs for a more relaxed riding position. The front of the bike features an LED headlamp with a circular LED DRL design housed within an angular headlamp pod. The 20-litre fuel tank gets some angular design elements as well and the taillights are also LED equipped. The new bike measures 2230mm long, 920mm wide, 1090mm tall, and has a 1530mm wheelbase with 160mm ground clearance. The seat height of the cruiser motorcycle is also 715mm.

The new cruiser motorcycle is powered by a 249cc, Air-Cooled, 4-Stroke, 8-Valve, V-Twin Engine that produces 18.7 hp at 8,500 rpm and 19 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The BS6 engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission with Engine Control Unit (ECU) ignition and an EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) fuel system. In contrast to most manufacturers' chain drive systems, power is transmitted to the wheel via a belt drive system.

K-Light 250V Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

The cruiser is supported by a double cradle frame, an inverted front fork, and twin rear shock absorbers. Discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS handle braking duties. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Timsun tyres with 120-section front and 140-section rear sections.

There's also a panic button that sends the location of the bike to two pre-selected contacts.

Key Features of K-Light 250V

The Keeway has an all-LED lighting system, a semi-digital tank-mounted instrument cluster, and a USB charging port near the steering headstock. Keeway Connect, a GPS and SIM card-enabled module that connects to the Keeway smartphone app, is also included with the bike. Riders can use this to access features such as real-time motorcycle location, geo-fencing, remote engine cut-off, ride records, maximum speed limit, and a panic button.
