Royal Enfield Classic 500 is one of the most popular and bets-selling 500cc motorcycles in India. The tiger eye lamps are fitted into the headlight case for a perfect Bullet like look. The powerful halogen bulb provides better illumination and imparts traditional looks to the motorcycle. While the aesthetically designed short silencer gives it a 1950's look. The fuel tank is crafted precisely with thigh pads and post war era graphics for a vintage look. The motorcycle has a lot of chrome inserts here and there that goes well with the style. The bike features gleaming spokes, alloy wheels and flowing, steel mudguards. It has a single seat which is well cushioned and comfortable. Overall, the bike can be termed as a retro bold style statement.
Instrument Panel
The Desert Storm comes equipped with a fully analogue instrument console that reminds you the retro styles. It features a speedometer and fuel gauge along with indicators for low fuel, oil and battery.
Dimensions and Fuel Tank Capacity
The Desert Storm has got a length of 2130mm, width of 800mm, height of 1050mm for export market and 1080mm for domestic market as its dimensions which can easily accommodate tall as well as short heights. The bike has a kerb weight of 187 Kg along with a fuel tank capacity of 14.5-litres.
Engine and Specifications
The motorcycle is powered by air-cooled, 4-stroke, Twin Spark engine that generates a 499cc displacement. It has a bore into stroke ratio of 84mm and 90mm respectively. This mono-cylinder engine kicks out a maximum power of 27.2 bhp at 5250 rpm and a maximum torque of 41.3 Nm at 4000 rpm. It is mated to a wet, multiple-disc clutch, Keihin electronic fuel injection, digital electronic ignition system and a constant mesh, five-speed transmission for a snappy performance.
Brakes and Suspension
The braking system comprises of 280mm disc, 2-Piston caliper brakes at the front and 153mm drum, single lead internal expanding brakes at the rear end which are quite effective and strong. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic 35mm forks and twin gas charged shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload at the rear end. It has a front wheel travel of 130 mm while the rear one is 80mm.
Ride and Handling
This roadster offers a comfortable and stable ride. It has a high ground clearance of 135mm in order to protect the under body from damages. The wheelbase of 1,370 mm holds roads firmly and gives a safer drive. The motorcycle feels quite stable around edges and can easily make its way through uneven roads. The bike has wonderful off-road capabilities which make it unique in its class.
Tyre Size
For domestic market, the tyre size is 90/90-19 front and 120/80-18 rear while for export market it is 90/90-18 at the front and 110/80-18 is there at the back.
Shades and Price
The motorcycle is available in a single color that is Desert Storm as it is referred from the name itself. This color symbolizes the desert and stormy areas. The ex-showroom, Delhi price for this stunning roadster is INR 1.5 lakhs, approx., may vary.

Iv got standard 350 an i drived d highest motorable road (ladakh). 350 doesnt reach dere easily with a single person on 350.but now few months back iv got dis BULL an dis is d fastest bike on montains. It roars like hell an it made my trip very easy widout going to any mechanic. Iv crossed everybdy on road. U cant get a 500cc bike cheaper then dis RE. An i get alot of thumbs up in traffic. People see dis bike and smiles. Everybdy dreams of it. Rs163000 on road.
