UM Renegade Commando Review
Overview
<
With looks that attract onlookers and an advanced technology on the bike, the UM Renegade Commando strikes a sales number that is quite consistent. It has a solid build quality, which can be expected from the company, and provides a good mileage which keeps the customers happy. However, the limited number of sales and service outlets makes the bike a bit popular than some others in the segment. The lack of the rear disc brake and the ABS also keep it aloof from reaching the top charts.
The UM Renegade Commando is powered by a 279.5cc Single Cylinder, 4 Stroke, 4 valve, liquid cooled, petrol engine with spark ignition that allows the bike to produce a maximum power of 28.4 bhp at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 23 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is connected to the drivetrain via a six-speed synchronous mesh overdrive transmission that allows the bike to produce a mileage of about 30 kmpl combined on urban roads and highways. The top speed that the UM Renegade Commando can reach is 125 kmph. The high torque on the bike allows a constant flow of power at lower rpms.
The UM Renegade Commando is built around a bone type chassis and the suspension duties on the bike are handled by 41mm hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers with springs at the rear. The bike is lifted off the ground by a 16-inch wheel at the front and a 15-inch wheel at the rear, which are covered by 110/90 16" and 140/90 15" tires, respectively. The bike does not feature alloy wheels. The instrument panel on the bike consists of an analogue speedometer and a digital fuel gauge and odometer. There is a 280mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear.
