The second-generation MINI Cooper Electric is reported to launch in India on 27 November 2026. MINI is expected to bring the Cooper SE and a Paul Smith Edition. The new electric hatchback has a larger battery than its predecessor, while India pricing and the final local equipment list are still to be announced.

What changes on the second-generation Cooper SE?

The new car retains the three-door shape and round headlights. It adds flush door handles, a redesigned grille and triangular rear lamps. The international cabin uses a circular OLED display and textile dashboard surfaces. Local buyers should wait for confirmation of which lighting, comfort and driver-assistance equipment is standard.

Battery, range and charging

The international SE uses a 54.2 kWh battery, with up to 402 km of claimed WLTP range in the launch coverage. Its front motor is rated at 218 hp and 330 Nm. Reported DC charging peaks at 95 kW. These figures provide a benchmark for the new generation. Verify the local specification and test-cycle figure when MINI opens bookings.

What to watch for at the India launch

The Paul Smith Edition adds its own colours and trim details to the SE package. For buyers comparing premium electric cars, check the India price difference, included charging equipment, battery warranty and delivery timeline before choosing between the two versions.
