USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is a powerhouse of a motorcycle that sets a new benchmark in the adventure touring segment. My experience with this bike has been nothing short of impressive, with its robust and versatile design making it a joy to ride both on and off the road. The 1300cc air-cooled boxer engine delivers exceptional power and torque, making it highly flexible and fun to ride. The addition of advanced electronics, including adaptive ride height and automatic transmission, enhances the riding experience significantly. However, the complexity and power of this bike might make it less suitable for Indian road conditions, especially for less experienced riders. Despite this, for those seeking an uncompromising adventure motorcycle, the R 1300 GS Adventure is hard to beat.
Price
The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure comes with a premium price tag, reflecting its high-end features and performance. The introductory ex-showroom price in India starts at 22,95,000 for the base variant and can go up to 26,25,000 for the higher variants. On-road prices vary by city, with New Delhi seeing prices starting from around 25.50 lakh, while other cities like Mumbai and Pune start at approximately 25.30 lakh. Cities like Kolkata and Chennai have on-road prices starting from around 27.50 lakh. These prices include GST and compensation cess but exclude road tax, RTO statutory taxes, and insurance. Given the extensive list of standard and optional features, the price is justified for those who value top-notch engineering and riding experience.

I think these updates make it a compelling choice for adventure riders.
Friday, 05 July 2024 04:37 AM BMW has emphasized that the R 1300 GS Adventure is designed to be the benchmark for large adventure motorcycles, with enhancements across the board. The bike features a more compact twin-cylinder boxer engine producing 107 kW (145 hp) and 149 Nm of torque. Optional features include seat heating, handlebar risers, and a smartphone charging compartment. I believe these features make it highly versatile for both on-road and off-road use.
Wednesday, 26 June 2024 06:14 PM The bike has a significant increase in fuel capacity with a 7.9-gallon gas tank, providing a range of up to 380 miles. It also features an adaptive vehicle height control that lowers the seat by 1.2 inches when the bike is stationary, making it more accessible. The R 1300 GS Adventure is praised for its slow-speed balance and perfect fueling.

Discussions and Questions BMW R 1300 GS Adventure

Is the R1300GSA's new tech overkill for an adventure bike?
23 January 2025 11:22
Totally overkill. Simple and robust is what adventure bikes should be. It’s just more stuff to break when I’m out in the middle of nowhere.
Will the R1300GSA's added power make it too much for a beginner?
23 January 2025 11:22
It's definitely not the most beginner friendly. More power equals more responsibility and new riders can get in over their heads.
Will the R1300GSA's added power make it too much for a beginner?
23 January 2025 11:22
It's all about self-control. Beginners need to respect the power, and learn gradually – the bike has the tech to keep you safe.
Is the new R1300GSA still up to the 'go anywhere' spirit of the GS line?
23 January 2025 11:22
Absolutely! In addition, the new suspension and electronics actually make it even more capable off-road, and improve on road comfort.
Is the R1250GSA really worth the upgrade from the R1300GSA?
23 January 2025 11:22
I rode both back to back and the difference is subtle honestly. This little bit of extra processing power won’t make you a better developer unless you’re pushing the limits of what your unit can do.
