Benelli TNT 899 Review

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Benelli TNT 899 is an unmerciful machine, filled with power to its neck. The wide eyed monster looks straight into the rival, shattering his dreams of victory. The engine being an 898 cc powerhouse, it generates 119.37 BHP @ 10000 rpm and 85.6 NM @ 8000 rpm. For keeping the horses calm, a liquid cooling system has been installed. Electronic fuel injection with three 53 mm diameter throttle bodies has been used for the best use of fuel being supplied.

The six speed manual transmission makes it a true sprinter with more than enough power for each gear provided. 16 litres of petrol is all what is takes to satisfy the hunger of this giant monster and in return, you get each mile filled with a new moment of adventure and sport. The braking power goes in the hands of twin 320 mm floating discs with radial mounted Brembo 4 piston calipers for the front and a single 240 mm wave disc with Brembo 2 piston calipers.

That simply means a razor sharp braking experience. The tyres on the other side are totally loyal to the braking with their superior road grip. Front gets an option of 120/70-ZR17 whereas the rear has much wider 190/50-ZR17. Suspension is totally under the surveillance of Marzocchi 50 mm upside down forks for the front and Sachs shock 120 mm stroke which also has an adjustable pre-load rebound. Trust me, they are very dedicated to their job and will leave all the unpredicted road problems to the road only, giving the rider a smooth ride every time.

A combination of technology and classic appeal surely defines the instrument cluster of the TNT 899. With a digital speedometer and an analogue tachometer, the thrill of watching your-self fly has been equally balanced. A digital clock for some time bound missions has also been provided into the digital console. The tachometer needle seems greedy as it always wishes for the highest position and after 8000 rpm, goose bumps are guaranteed.

The TNT 25 has a great power-to-weight ratio, with a 249 cc engine producing 28.16 BHP @ 9800 rpm and 21.61 NM @ 8000 rpm. The engine is liquid cooled and electronically fuel injected, giving it precision and a longer life span. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox, and has not been heavily tuned, making it on par with other 250 cc segment bikes. The TNT 25's main rival in the 200 cc segment is the KTM Duke and it remains to be seen how much success the TNT 25 will have in India. According to the company, the top speed of the Benelli TNT 250 is 145 kmph.
