Benelli TNT 150i Review

31 Jan, 2019 04:55 PM

Benelli TNT 150  is hands-down one of the most well-built bikes in the segment. People have a divided opinion on the looks of the bike and it seems like an area where the company could have improved a bit and taken inspiration from the motorcycles of other companies. The engine of the bike also feels a little underpowered as compared to the other bikes in the segment. However, there are many plus points in favour of the bike such as its all-digital instrument console and its upside-down front suspension. The TNT 150 would be the second single-cylinder bike that Benelli will bring to India. The TNT 250 was a bike that had a high price as compared to its rivals and that factor alone did not fair well with the markets.

However, the company is hoping to conquer the sales in another segment and it has brought the bike with a 148cc air-cooled engine that will produce 11.4 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 10.7 Nm. This engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both the front and the rear end of the bike feature disc brakes and the absence of the ABS is an issue that needs to be addressed. The 5-spoke alloy wheels look sporty, and the comfortable riding position makes the bike a daily commuter. The front of the bike is handled by USD Telescopic forks while the rear suspension duties are performed by the Monoshock. When launched in India, this bike will take on the rivals such as the Yamaha FZ, the Suzuki Gixxer, the Apache RTR 160, and the Honda CB Hornet 160R. The price of the bike will also put it against the newly launched Hero Xtreme 200R. The bike will be available in three colours, namely Red, White, and Black.
