Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The New 2026 Bajaj Dominar 400 is quite distinctive among its segments. The light slipper clutch of the bike will allow you to do faster downshifts without any risk of rear-wheel locking. The seats are comfortable. It is a flexible bike that one can use for daily commutes as well as take it out for weekend rides. It is heavily inspired by the popular Ducati Diavel and Bajaj Auto has done a commendable job by providing it with loads of equipment to make the best out of it.

Latest Updates

Recent news and announcements

Bajajs Executive Director, Rakesh Sharma, has hinted that the new Dominar 400 will be elevated to a premium segment, making it less accessible to a wider audience. The Pulsar NS400Z will fill the gap for customers looking for a performance-oriented bike at a reasonable price. The new Dominar 400 is expected to feature ABS modes, cruise control, and enhanced safety features. I think this strategic move could help Bajaj tap into a more lucrative market segment.

The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges.

Launched in 2025, the Bajaj Dominar 400 continues to stand out as a top choice for riders seeking a dynamic sports tourer. With a host of new features and thoughtful updates, this latest model is designed to appeal to both daily commuters and long-distance enthusiasts who value comfort, technology, and performance.

Refreshed Styling and Comfort Enhancements

The 2025 Dominar 400 retains its bold, muscular appearance but introduces subtle refinements for improved rider comfort. The handlebar has been adjusted to promote a more upright riding posture, which helps reduce fatigue during extended journeys. Additionally, the bike now comes with a rear luggage carrier equipped with a built-in GPS mount, making it especially convenient for touring adventures.

Advanced Instrumentation and Connectivity

A standout upgrade for this year is the introduction of a new, high-resolution LCD instrument cluster. Inspired by the setup found on the Pulsar NS400Z, this single-screen display is clear and user-friendly. It also features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to access navigation, receive call and message alerts, and manage other smartphone functions directly from the dashboard.

Ride-by-Wire and Multiple Riding Modes

For the first time, the Dominar 400 is equipped with ride-by-wire technology. This innovation enables four distinct riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, and Off-road. Each mode adjusts the throttle response and ABS settings, giving riders the flexibility to customize the bike’s behavior for different road conditions and riding styles.

Engine Performance and Efficiency

Under the hood, the Dominar 400 relies on a robust 373.3 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. It delivers 40 PS of power at 8,800 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a smooth-shifting six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch for effortless gear changes. The updated engine is now OBD-2B compliant, meeting the latest emission standards without sacrificing performance.

Chassis, Suspension, and Braking System

Built on a strong perimeter frame, the Dominar 400 offers excellent stability at highway speeds. The front suspension consists of 43 mm USD telescopic forks, while the rear features a multi-step adjustable monoshock with Nitrox. Braking is handled by a large 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, both supported by dual-channel ABS for optimal safety. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless radial tires for reliable grip.

Touring-Friendly Features

Bajaj has equipped the 2025 Dominar 400 with several features designed specifically for touring:

- Rear Luggage Carrier with GPS Mount: Ready for top boxes and easy navigation.
- USB Charging Port: Keeps devices charged on long rides.
- Navigation Assist: Integrated into the new LCD display for real-time directions.
- Ergonomic Improvements: Redesigned handlebar and seat for increased comfort.

These additions make the Dominar 400 a strong companion for riders who love to explore.

Safety and Technology Upgrades

Safety is a priority on the new Dominar 400, which comes with:

- Dual-Channel ABS: Prevents wheel lock-up during hard braking.
- Traction Control: Enhances stability on slippery surfaces.
- Four Riding Modes: Customizes throttle and ABS response for various conditions.
- Full LED Lighting: Ensures maximum visibility with LED headlights, taillights, and indicators.

These features provide riders with greater confidence and control in diverse riding environments.

Dimensions and Practicality

The Dominar 400 measures 2,156 mm in length, 863 mm in width, and 1,243 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,453 mm. It offers a ground clearance of 157 mm and a seat height of 800 mm, making it accessible for most riders. The 13-liter fuel tank provides ample range for touring, while the kerb weight of 193 kg ensures a stable ride.

Color Options and Variants

The 2025 Dominar 400 is available in three attractive colors: Charcoal Black, Canyon Red, and Aurora Green. There is just one fully loaded variant, so every buyer receives the complete package of features.

Pricing and Availability

Priced at ₹2,39,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Dominar 400 offers excellent value for money, especially considering the wealth of new technology and features. Bookings are already open, and deliveries are scheduled to begin soon across India.

Final Thoughts

The 2025 Bajaj Dominar 400 is a compelling blend of power, comfort, and advanced technology. With its new LCD console, ride-by-wire system, multiple riding modes, and touring-focused features, it stands out as an excellent choice for riders who want a versatile and capable motorcycle. Whether you’re navigating city streets or embarking on a cross-country adventure, the Dominar 400 is ready to deliver an outstanding riding experience.
