Royal Enfield has updated the prices of select motorcycles in the Indian market, and this affects one of its highest-selling products, the Classic 350. This motorcycle from the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer is now available from Rs. 1,93,080 as against the Rs. 1,90,092 previously.

Tuesday, 03 September 2024 10:17 PM The 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been launched in India, featuring a full LED lighting system, including LED headlamps, tail lamps, and indicators. This update is expected to enhance the motorcycles illumination and modern appeal. The bike also includes adjustable brake and clutch levers, a USB-C charging port, and a gear position indicator. I think these updates will significantly improve the riding experience and appeal to both new and existing customers.
Tuesday, 13 August 2024 10:57 PM Royal Enfield has introduced the 2024 Classic 350 in seven new color options, along with minor feature updates such as a more comprehensive instrument console and the Tripper navigation system for higher variants. The engine remains the same J-series 350cc unit, producing 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque. I believe the new colors and features will help keep the Classic 350 fresh and competitive in the market.
Thursday, 08 August 2024 07:13 PM The updated Royal Enfield Classic 350 retains its familiar silhouette but with subtle cosmetic changes, including new color schemes and LED lighting. The motorcycle continues to use the dual-cradle chassis, telescopic front forks, and dual rear shocks, ensuring no mechanical changes. I think this approach will help maintain the classic appeal while offering modern conveniences.
Thursday, 08 August 2024 12:42 PM Royal Enfield has announced that the 2024 Classic 350 will be available across India starting September 1, with prices expected to remain in the same ballpark as the current model, ranging from Rs. 1.93 lakh to Rs. 2.25 lakh. Thursday, 08 August 2024 09:43 AM The 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 launch event highlighted the models significance in Royal Enfields history, with Sid Lal, MD of Royal Enfield, emphasizing its role in shaping the brands journey. The updated model includes features like adjustable levers and a USB charging port, enhancing rider comfort and convenience. I think these additions will be well-received by enthusiasts and casual riders alike.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Review

04 Sep, 2024 07:18 AM

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Introduction

After leading the classic bike segment for over a decade, Royal Enfield has completely revamped the Classic 350. The bike is perfection personified on two wheels for its enthusiasts. Despite some flaws, the Classic 350 was able to connect with Desi motorcyclists and is now one of the most desired two-wheelers on the market in India.

The brand intends to entice a new generation of buyers and keep its competitors at bay with the next-generation Classic 350. The recently launched bike has entered the Indian two-wheeler market, featuring numerous aesthetic and technical upgrades over its predecessor.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Design & Style

In terms of design, the new Classic 350 has stayed essentially identical to that of its predecessors while remaining relevant for a new generation of riders. It retains design elements including a round headlamp, a circular shape for the rear-view mirrors, a curved fuel tank, a split-style seat, and a side-slung exhaust.

However, there are slight changes to the features, like the headlight being a multi-reflector one that offers an enhanced level of lighting for illuminated night rides, the alphanumeric design of the teardrop fuel tank, the strengthened grab rail for the pillion rider, and the compact taillight unit and a USB charging slot.

Moreover, built on the twin downtube spine frame, the new model has a sound body with measurements of 1090mm in height, 785mm in width, 2145mm in length, 805mm in seat height, and 1390mm in wheelbase. In addition, the kerb weight of the motorcycle is 195 kg, with 170 mm of ground clearance.

Talking about the available paint schemes for this bike, there are 11 beautiful colour choices like Halcyon Green, Halcyon Black, Redditch Red, Redditch Grey, Jodhpur Blue, Madras Red, Medallion Bronze, Commando Sand, Gun Grey, Stealth Black, and Emerald .

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Instrument Console

Looking forward to the instrument console of the bike, it gets major updates as it now comes equipped with an LCD that offers plenty of information related to the odometer, trip meter, eco indicator, fuel gauge, and clock. The updated console blends the elegance of an analogue speedometer with the practicality of an LCD.

The company's Tripper navigation display is available as an optional extra on the top-spec Chrome model. It replaces the previous bike's low fuel warning light. This method works when connected to the Royal Enfield app and uses Google Maps data. However, it does not provide you with any call or SMS notifications.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Engine and Gearbox

When it comes to the power of the new Classic 350, it gets the same J series Meteor engine, which is BS-VI compliant and a 349cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that uses an electronic fuel injection system. The pushrod-valve system of the original Classic is replaced by a SOHC two-valve head, and the engine remains air/oil-cooled. This engine is mated with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox and is capable of churning out 20.2 HP of max power at 6100 rpm and 27 Nm of max torque at 4000 rpm.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Brakes, Suspension & Tyres

The braking duties in the newly launched Classic 350 are handled by a 300mm front disc brake with a twin-piston floating calliper and a 270mm rear disc brake with a single-piston floating calliper. The two variants of the motorcycle, Redditch Sage Green and Redditch Grey come equipped with single-channel ABS, while all other variants come equipped with dual-channel ABS.

As far as the suspension is concerned, the RE Classic 350 gets 41mm front telescopic forks and twin-tube emulsion shock absorbers with a 6-step adjustable preload rear suspension. This cruiser bike rides on 100/90-19-57P front and 120/80-18-62P rear CEAT tyres.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 Top Speed and Mileage

Looking forward to the top speed of the motorcycle, it has the capability of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 15 seconds and reaching a top speed of 120 kmph approximately, which is appreciable because it gets a large kerb weight. The bike offers such a smooth ride that vibration is almost zero. The rider can only feel a slight vibration while the speed crosses 80 kmph.

Talking further about the mileage it offers, the Classic 350 has a 13-litre fuel tank capacity and the mileage is 32-35 kmpl in the city and 36-38 kmpl on the highway approximately. However, the mileage can vary depending on the terrain and driving style of the users.

Verdict - Should You Buy Royal Enfield Classic 350?

The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 has some significant changes, which make the bike more attractive and more powerful. The new engine and emissions, which they have accomplished admirably since the Meteor and Classic 350, were designed in tandem with the new-age standards in mind. Despite its vintage design, the result is a product that feels newer and more put together.

Also, talking about some drawbacks, it has some difficulty with the front brakes as it needs some extra force, and another thing that should be noted is the issue of a heavy clutch. Aside from that, there is nothing that needs to be fixed. In other words, we can say the positives of the bike outweigh the negatives. Like the previous RE Classic bikes, it is also expected to be the most popular in its segment.

Royal Enfield bikes are really shitty and I think it's about time they start working on quality issues and respecting their customers just as much as they respect RE! I mean there's not even a single thing that can be pointed proudly towards as a good feature of the bike. All there's left of it is the fan following, that too built up by the earlier and the older models when technically no other bike existed in India.

However, these retarded production heads at RE still think that building the bike with the same technology and principles as was it about 15 years ago can bode well in today's world, but well, it simply doesn't! For a bike that takes up 2 months, 4 months, and even up to 8 months to get to the user, virtually no errors or flaws can be expected out of it, but very obviously that isn't the case, is it? However if these bikes are produced by machines independently, with least possible amount of human intervention in the process of making, these bikes would actually turn out to be better in terms of quality.

That being said, there still are a lot of families in India for whom a vehicle like this might be the only vehicle that they ever own, but the cost of maintenance would strip them bare naked before they decide to give up on this bike. So doesn't RE even once think about providing the customers with a product that can actually put a smile on their faces instead of draining down their resources in the name of maintenance? These bikes are now the furthest thing imaginable from being reliable and dependable.

With all that said, there's still a part of us that has faith in RE for the mere love for the bikes and the way we have connected with them over the years, for only and only that emotion alone binds us with these bikes. It would always be nice and appreciated if the one thing you love is waiting halfway for you too, which the RE's are simply not, and it is really heart breaking. It would be really nice to see for RE to posses a certain sense of generosity and consideration towards the customers too!

This might just be a very personal opinion and I understand that only a few people few here will agree to this and the rest will be in a massive state of denial but I expect you to consider that I respect your right to believe whatever you want to believe, but I am in under no such obligations to respect what you believe! All I'm simply trying to say is that THE FANS DESERVE BETTER!

ROYAL ENFIELD CLASSIC 350 REVIEW

-

This review
is from a amateur who just got his first Royal Enfield bike and rode
for 4000kms. Royal Enfield as a brand has a high value in indian market
as being the oldest bike

manufacturer in india as well as people living here have great emotional connection towards this brand.

But I never expected to own one in my life
as I prefered sports bike over cruisers as they are more live and fun.
Although I own Pulsar 135LS, I have ridden Cbr 250, karizma zmr,

duke 200, pulsar 200 NS, fz v1 and gixxer a couple of times thanks to
my kind hearted friends. I got my eyes on Royal Enfield when the subject
Touring came to my mind. As you

know, sports bike have
harder seats and tight suspensions which makes them poor for long
rides. I needed something which was under my budget and which goes on
and on

without having engine out of breath.

When I spoke to my dad about taking a new bike such as avenger and
karizma, he just ignored by saying' u already have a bike, why do u need
a new one. Take a car(am having

job)'. But am a biker . so I researched and came into conclusion of
buying a royal enfield. When I informed my dad about, to my surprise the
response I got from was the most

heart warming .'Royal
enfield!. Thats very good.' . my dad worked(currently retired) as
Circle inspector and has a history with Royal Enfield Bikes. Infact, he
was more excited

to buy the bike than I was.

We visited the showroom and decided to buy classic 350 as its style was
more appealing. We paid an advance of Rs.5000 to Prince motors,
palakkad, kerala to book silver classic

350 and the
bike got delivered within 3 months waiting period. Oh man what a site it
was to see royal enfield'the king of the roads' standing in my house.

The first 500kms is very crucial for any new bikes as its the time
where the engines get set. Also if there is any complaint with bike we
have to inform it in start itself else in

future its
going to be costly. Me and dad tamed the beast to run under 50 although
the manual says we can go on 60kmph and after crossing 500 we went upto
70 as per manual.

But after first service
tappet noise started to arise when I gave more acceleration. This
really hurted me as new bike giving problems at the starting can cause
to anyone. When

inquired with showroom, this was their
reply'the new engines come with hydraulic tappets which cannot be
adjusted by us and is strictly prohibited by company. It will be

automatically corrected when you ride the bike continously'. I hope it
does! because Royal Enfield is not a brand that stands for technology

After second service the bike returned a mileage of 33kmpl which was
way below the company claimed one although I rode at 70kmph. The biggest
thing I liked about the bike

was its engine
performance, the more distance it covered more smoother it became. Self
start even though was present became useless as it works only
occassionally . it felt like

the battery dosent have
enough juice to start 350cc engine. Headlights have powerful beam which
is good for night driving. The rider seats have springs which acts as
extra shock

absorbers and thus provide more comfort.
The pillion seats though is narrow and will definitely cause pain after
50 to 60kms. The new UCE engine is light and entire bike has

reduced weight and its very easy to navigate in traffic. I didnt like
the fit and finish though since the nuts and bolts started to come off
due to vibration and you might never know

when something is missing. In my place, the silencer nut and chain
guard nut was lost after a long ride. The paint quality is also another
issue as one little scratch will peel off the

paint.

On Dec 20th and 21st 2014 I made a chennai to Bangalore and reverse in
my bull covering almost 800kms in two days and the bike performed well.
But I was not happy as

although the engine was 350cc I
could only cruise the bike at speed of 80kmph and after that vibration
was in excess. Comon. a wide open 6lane straight road and you still move

like a turtoise. I envyed the CBR250 and KTM Guys who
flew past me through these open roads. And the biggest problem was a
heart breaker. The rim got bent when I ran

through a
huge pot hole and bike began to wobble like anything. thanks to chennai
road.(I have run my pulsar like anything but it didnt give it a
scratch.! this is the quality of steel RE guys give? I have my pulsar
135 to bangalore through

same highway and there was no
problem at all). Another thing that iritated me was tappet noise, after
70 tappet noise will become high.

As one good rider
once said. Take a royal enfield with heart and not mind. And thats truly
said as this bike is not perfect in any means . it got problems which
makes many buyers

to back away but once you ride on it
the whole world will envy upon on you. The sound of beats will become
music to your ears. Clutch and brakes like the strings of a guitar. Its

upto you whether you wanna play hard metal or melody.

Yes, there are more better bikes such as CBR, Pulsar, R15, Avenger etc
for this price and if you are not a big fan of RE, then surely you must
not take it. This bike has more cons

than pros no matter how mad a RE fan suggest you to buy.

Ride safe . Ride long.

RE needs to concentrate more on the chrome finishes in the bike. nuts n bolts and joints in silencer gets rusted sooner, also the quality of the wheel makes u bit worried. older formats doesnt have this problem but in new classic they need to work on the minor parts...

Over all the Bike is awsome and gives u the feel of a King of Roads while u pass by any vehicle...
