USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda Brio 2050, although not yet launched in India, promises to be a significant upgrade from its predecessor. Based on the design cues borrowed from the Honda Amaze and the Honda Small RS Concept, this hatchback is set to offer a fresh and contemporary look. The retention of the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which produces 90PS of power and 110Nm of torque, suggests that it will maintain the entertaining performance and healthy power-to-weight ratio that Honda is known for. However, the absence of a diesel option might be a drawback for some buyers. The introduction of an RS variant with a retuned suspension and cosmetic enhancements could appeal to those seeking a sportier driving experience. Overall, the Brio 2050 seems poised to be a strong contender in the hatchback segment, offering a blend of style, performance, and reliability that Honda is renowned for.
Price
The estimated ex-showroom price for the Honda Brio 2050 in India is expected to start from around Rs. 5.00 lakh. Given the historical pricing of the Brio, it is likely that the top variant could go up to around Rs. 7 lakh. When considering on-road prices, buyers should factor in additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could add another Rs. 1-2 lakh to the overall cost. This pricing positions the Brio 2050 competitively within the hatchback segment, making it an attractive option for those looking for a reliable and feature-packed vehicle without breaking the bank.
Latest Updates
Tuesday, 17 December 2024 01:00 PM Honda has confirmed that there are no plans to bring the second-gen Brio to India, as they have stopped production of the current model. This decision has disappointed many who were looking forward to the new design and features of the 2019 Brio. I think this is a missed opportunity for Honda to revamp their hatchback segment in India.
Monday, 15 July 2019 01:58 PM The estimated price of the Honda Brio 2050 in India was expected to start from Rs. 5.00 lakh, although the launch date remains unrevealed. The car would have been a competitive entry in the hatchback segment with its BS VI compliant engine and PGM-Fi fuel supply system. I think the pricing was quite competitive and could have attracted many buyers.
Thursday, 20 June 2019 01:02 PM The Honda Brio 2050 is equipped with a 1198 cc engine, producing 86.8 bhp of power and 109 Nm of torque. Friday, 10 May 2019 09:12 AM The second-gen Honda Brio has a distinct design, borrowing cues from the all-new Amaze and the Honda Small RS Concept. I think the new design would have been a refreshing change in the Indian hatchback market.
Thursday, 25 April 2019 06:33 PM Despite the unveiling of the second-gen Brio in Indonesia, Honda has not announced any plans to introduce a diesel variant for this model in India. The current model only comes with a petrol engine. I believe a diesel option would have been beneficial for Indian buyers who often prefer diesel for better fuel economy.
Friday, 15 March 2019 06:15 PM The Honda Brio 2050 was expected to launch in India sometime in 2019, with prices speculated to be between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh. However, with the production halt of the current model, these plans seem to have been shelved. I think this price range would have made the Brio a strong contender in the budget hatchback segment.
Wednesday, 20 February 2019 12:07 AM The second-gen Honda Brio features several updates, including a retuned suspension for the RS variant, which promises a sportier driving experience. This update, along with the cosmetic changes, was expected to enhance the overall driving experience. I believe these updates would have appealed to younger buyers looking for a fun-to-drive car.
Monday, 20 August 2018 07:35 AM Honda unveiled the second-gen Brio at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in August 2018, showcasing its new design and features. The car was expected to attract attention in the Indian market with its updated look and improved performance. I think the international unveiling generated significant interest among Indian car enthusiasts.
