VinFast has increased Indian prices of the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs. The VF 6 is now Rs 90,000 dearer across its three variants, while the VF 7 increase ranges from Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 1.13 lakh. Revised ex-showroom prices are Rs 18.19–20.09 lakh for the VF 6 and Rs 22.99–28.09 lakh for the VF 7. The immediate question for buyers is what this changes in their written quotation, especially if a booking is already in place.
How much have prices increased?
| Model | Revised ex-showroom range | Increase |
|---|---|---|
| VinFast VF 6 | Rs 18.19–20.09 lakh | Rs 90,000 on every variant |
| VinFast VF 7 | Rs 22.99–28.09 lakh | Rs 1.10–1.13 lakh, depending on variant |

The VF 6 is offered in Earth, Wind and Wind Infinity trims. The VF 7 adds Sky and Sky Infinity to its five-version range. The maximum Rs 1.13 lakh hike does not apply universally to both SUVs: a VF 6 buyer should use Rs 90,000, while a VF 7 buyer needs the exact revision for the selected trim.
This is the second price revision reported since the SUVs' September 2025 introduction, following the end of introductory pricing in January 2026. The new figures should therefore be compared with the latest pre-revision quotation, not just the original launch advertisement. No verified explanation of the latest increase is available in the checked material, so higher production costs should not be treated as an established cause.
Why a VF 7 variant comparison matters
The VF 7 is not one battery-and-motor package sold with different cosmetic extras. Official specifications list a 59.6kWh battery and front-wheel drive for Earth, with a 70kWh battery in higher versions. Wind versions remain front-wheel drive, while Sky versions provide all-wheel drive. A larger price step can therefore reflect a different powertrain as well as additional features.
When comparing variants, separate the latest price increase from the upgrade you are considering. Check whether extra battery capacity, additional driven wheels or equipment actually answers your need. Do not assume the most expensive model delivers the longest range: drivetrain and test-cycle results need to be read together.
What happens to an existing booking?
The price announcement alone does not establish whether a previously booked car is protected. Ask the dealership to confirm in writing which price applies at invoicing, whether the booking terms include protection, and whether any promised offer remains valid. A booking receipt and a final tax invoice serve different purposes; verbal assurances should be reflected in the sale documents.
Also ask whether changing colour, trim or delivery allocation affects the quoted price. There is no basis here to promise a uniform exemption for all customers with existing bookings.
Compare the complete on-road quote
Base vehicle: confirm the exact model, trim, colour and revised ex-showroom amount.
Mandatory charges: separate registration and applicable taxes from the vehicle price.
Insurance: compare equivalent cover, deductibles and add-ons.
Charging: confirm what hardware, installation and site work are included.
Optional packages: list accessories, extended cover and service products individually.
Offers: check their expiry, eligibility and whether they are already deducted.
The ownership comparison should also include charging access, nearby service support and the variant's real usefulness for your journeys. The VinFast price hike changes the purchase calculation, but a transparent like-for-like quote is more informative than comparing two advertised starting prices.
