Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Review
Overview
Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced the refreshed V-Strom SX 250 for the 2025 model year, bringing subtle but meaningful updates to its popular entry-level adventure motorcycle. Launched to coincide with India's festive season, the V-Strom SX 250 continues as a practical, value-focused ADV that blends everyday usability with weekend touring capability.
2025 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250: Price and Ownership Benefits
Starting at ₹1.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the V-Strom SX 250 enters the market as one of the most affordable adventure motorcycles in its class. Suzuki is currently offering exchange bonuses of up to ₹5,000, insurance benefits up to ₹8,000, and an optional extended warranty for ₹1,709. Finance schemes are also available, with some dealerships offering full on-road financing without hypothecation. Delivery timelines can stretch up to two months in selected cities, so advance booking is recommended if you have your heart set on a particular color.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The V-Strom SX 250 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC engine that churns out 26.5 PS at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm at 7,300 rpm, paired to a smooth 6-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. This combination ensures a rider-friendly power delivery, ideal for both city commutes and relaxed highway cruising. In real-world use, riders can expect fuel efficiency in the low-to-mid 30s km/l, while the 12-liter fuel tank supports a useful touring range.
Chassis, Suspension, and Brakes
Designed with versatility in mind, the motorcycle features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheel setup—a choice that balances agility on tarmac with confidence on light trails. The suspension consists of a telescopic front fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, both tuned for comfort and stability over mixed road conditions. Braking duties are handled by a disc at each end with dual-channel ABS, enhancing safety in wet or unpredictable terrain. With 205 mm of ground clearance and an 835 mm seat height, the V-Strom SX 250 offers a commanding yet approachable stance, while its 167 kg kerb weight provides a stable yet manageable ride both in traffic and on gravel.
Ergonomics and Everyday Practicality
Where the V-Strom SX 250 truly shines is in its adventure-focused ergonomics: upright seating, wide handlebars, and a supportive split seat all contribute to comfort on longer rides, supplemented by a basic windscreen that deflects wind at highway speeds. The integrated rear luggage rack is standard, making it easy to mount top boxes or soft bags—a thoughtful touch for riders who value practicality. For Indian roads, the combination of wheels, suspension, and clearance makes it adept at soaking up potholes and rough patches, whether in the city or on weekend getaways. The overall design emphasizes ease of use and approachability, especially for those new to adventure riding.
Features and Technology
Modern features include full LED lighting front and rear, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and Suzuki Ride Connect for turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and ride analytics. There’s also a USB charging port for on-the-go device charging—essential for the connected rider. The addition of dual-channel ABS and a service-due indicator further underscores the motorcycle’s suitability for daily use and light touring. While there’s no radical technological leap, the available features are focused, practical, and welcome in this segment.
2025 Color Palette and Styling
Visually, the V-Strom SX 250 has been spruced up with four new dual-tone color options and refreshed graphics across the line. The new shades—Pearl Fresh Blue with Glass Sparkle Black, Pearl Glacier White with Metallic Mat Stellar Blue, Champion Yellow No. 2 with Glass Sparkle Black, and Glass Sparkle Black—give the motorcycle a more premium, adventurous look, in line with Suzuki’s global ADV design language. The refreshed graphics are subtle but effective, helping the bike stand out at a glance.
Who Should Consider the V-Strom SX 250?
This motorcycle is an excellent choice for riders seeking a versatile, reliable, and accessible adventure bike that can handle both daily commutes and occasional weekend exploration. Its approachable performance, practical ergonomics, and friendly price point make it a standout for new commuters, urban riders, and touring beginners. While experienced adventure riders seeking high-speed off-road capability or premium suspension adjustments might look elsewhere, the V-Strom SX 250 fills a sweet spot for those who value reliability, comfort, and value above outright performance.
Final Verdict
With its 2025 refresh, the Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 reaffirms its position as a dependable, value-driven adventure motorcycle. The updated color options and limited-time buyer offers add showroom appeal, while the underlying package remains straightforward and focused on practicality, comfort, and everyday usability. For riders who want a motorcycle that is equally at home on congested city streets and backcountry roads—without breaking the bank—the V-Strom SX 250 remains an attractive, well-rounded option in the 250cc adventure segment.

The bike and showroom are both good
The bike and showroom are both good. Delivery time and treatment are also great I'm expecting goods to arrive on the seventh of November, but the first ride was done in just two days and covered 850 km. One of the nicest experiences in India is the Indo-Coastal passtime which takes you from Mumbai to Rameshwaram on one journey, and crosses over to Kanya Kumari. The bike offers good performance and has a high mileage. The total mileage driven so far is 4,900km which is about 40 km/pl.
