Honda CB Unicorn 160 (Old Model)

About
The Honda CB Unicorn 160 is a well-rounded commuter bike that has garnered a loyal following in India. It features a powerful yet efficient 163cc engine that provides smooth power delivery and enough torque for both city and highway riding. The bikes design is understated yet classy, with touches of chrome that give it a timeless look. The build quality is good, although there are some rough edges if you look closely. The bike has a large 16-liter fuel tank and weighs 149 kg, making it stable and comfortable to ride. The fully covered chain sprocket is a useful feature in Indias dusty conditions. While it may lack some modern features and has some minor drawbacks like vibrations at high speeds, the Unicorn 160 remains a reliable and practical choice for daily commuting.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda CB Unicorn 160 is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient commuter bike. Its engine, though not as refined as its 150cc predecessor, offers excellent performance and refinement, making it a joy to ride both in city traffic and on open roads. The bikes ride quality is commendable, with the suspension handling various road conditions well, although the rear suspension can feel a bit stiff. The Combi-Braking System (CBS) enhances braking confidence, and the fuel efficiency is respectable, often exceeding 45 kml. However, it lacks modern features and can experience vibrations at higher speeds. Overall, its a practical daily commuter, especially appealing to mature riders who value reliability and a smooth ride.
Price
When the Honda CB Unicorn 160 was available in the market, its ex-showroom price in India was around 1.11 lakh. The on-road price, including registration, insurance, and other costs, would typically range from 1.25 lakh to 1.35 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. While the bike is no longer in production, its pricing during its time made it a competitive option in the 160cc segment. For those considering purchasing a used model, prices can vary widely based on the bikes condition, mileage, and location, but generally, you can expect to pay between 80,000 to 1.10 lakh.

I am writing this review after spending 5 years with this bike. First of all, its looks are dashing which goes very well with your personality. It doesn't make noise on roads like Pulsars or any other bike, it just overtakes silently and very smoothly. The seating posture is perfect with a slight upwards pillion seat. Though, I have no experience as pillion but I never hear any complaints from pillion companion yet. I go for long ride every weekend and on my Unicorn I can travel 130 km with single sitting. I never feel backache and shoulder pain on all long tours. Controlling the bike just require stamina otherwise it is very balanced bike that it remains steady at the speed of 2-10 kmph. So the only problem If I have to figure out, is I can say it's the weight of the bike. No other problem found yet.

Pros: Good look, Mileage, Comfort while riding

Cons: Heavy weight
