Mahindra Mojo 300 Red Agate

About
The Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6 is a tourer bike designed to offer a blend of comfort, performance, and style. Powered by a 294cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is fuel-injected to meet BS6 emission norms, it produces 25.72 PS of power and 25.96 Nm of torque. The bike features a 6-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. The Red Agate color option adds a dual-tone finish with white and red colors, enhancing its visual appeal. The bike retains its chiselled fuel tank, radiator shrouds, and single-piece seat, maintaining the overall design of its BS4 predecessor. With its 43mm telescopic forks, Pirelli Angel GT tires, and a comfortable riding stance, the Mojo 300 BS6 is well-suited for both city rides and long-distance tours. Despite some minor drawbacks, it remains a reliable and comfortable choice for bikers in India.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6 in the Red Agate color option is a compelling choice for those seeking a tourer bike that balances comfort, performance, and style. While it may not be the most powerful bike in its segment, its 294cc liquid-cooled engine, producing 25.72 PS and 25.96 Nm of torque, is more than adequate for long-distance touring. The bikes ergonomic design, including a comfortable saddle and ample room for both the rider and pillion, makes it an excellent option for those who plan to cover hundreds of kilometers without fatigue. However, the absence of features like a slipper clutch and LED headlights, and the single exhaust muffler instead of the dual exhaust setup of its predecessor, might leave some enthusiasts wanting more. Despite these omissions, the Mojo 300 BS6 remains a solid choice for its reliability, build quality, and the premium feel it offers.
Price
The Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6, specifically the Red Agate variant, is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this variant starts at around 2.11 lakhs. When it comes to the on-road price, you can expect to add another 20,000 to 30,000, depending on the state and local taxes, insurance, and other costs, bringing the total to approximately 2.41 lakhs to 2.51 lakhs. This pricing positions the Mojo 300 BS6 favorably against its competitors like the Bajaj Dominar 250 and Royal Enfield Classic 350, offering a good balance of features and value for money.
Latest Updates
Monday, 02 October 2023 12:11 AM The Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6, including the Red Agate variant, has been discontinued in the Indian market as of October 2023. This decision has left many fans of the bike disappointed, as it was known for its unique design and performance. I believe this move might be a strategic shift by Mahindra to focus on other models or upcoming technologies.
Sunday, 19 July 2020 02:08 PM The Red Agate variant of the Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6 was priced at Rs 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the higher-end options in its lineup. This pricing positioned it competitively against other bikes in the 300cc segment. I think the pricing was reasonable given the features and performance it offered.
Sunday, 19 July 2020 02:36 PM The Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6, including the Red Agate color, had a robust build with a twin-tube exposed frame and high-pressure gas-charged mono-shock suspension. This design ensured stability and comfort, making it a favorite among tourer bike enthusiasts. I believe the build quality was one of its strongest points.
Friday, 03 July 2020 09:13 AM In 2020, Mahindra updated the Mojo 300 to comply with BS6 emission norms. The Red Agate variant, along with other colors, saw no significant cosmetic changes but received a fuel-injected engine producing 25.7 PS and 25.9 Nm of torque. I think this update was a necessary step to keep the bike relevant in the market.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 08:13 PM The Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6 is not the most fuel-efficient bike in its segment, with a mileage of around 25 kmpl. While this is lower than some of its competitors, such as the Royal Enfield Scram 411 and Bajaj Dominar 250, which offer mileage figures of 38.2 kmpl and 38.1 kmpl respectively, it is still manageable for those who prioritize comfort and performance over fuel efficiency. For long-distance touring, the 21-liter fuel tank helps in reducing the frequency of fuel stops, making it a practical choice despite the relatively lower mileage. The best option for touring and high speed cruising

Apart from the oil charges (Rs1800) with 3 free service, it costs me only Rs 4500 for the chain, sprocket, and brake pads. So far, this is the maintenance costs for Mojo, which is fair and proves the build quality. I have traveled long distances (500+ kms/day) multiple times and had no issues so far. Pros - Its heavy and it will give you a premium ride feel every time. The 30 Nm torque is the best feature I like and it comes right when you touch 5500 RPM. The riding position is brilliant for long travel and is effortless. Cons - We really don't need a bulky dual exhaust unit for a single cylinder. It annoys and scraps every time you do a corner. My both side silencer plates worn out due to this action. Headlamp unit looks great but it is not effective for night travel, most of the mojo owners have fitted additional units for a better vision.

Best Features: Tank capacity, Headlight unit, High NM Torque, Build quality

Pros: Torque, Wheelbase, Headlamps, Huge tank capacity/design, USD forks, Speedometer console, Smooth gearshift

Cons: Dual Exhaust and ABS
