Overview
BMW C400X is an offering from BMW in the mid-size scooter market that has been developed extensively for challenging urban mobility on a daily basis. The two-wheeler has an unconventional design that complements its image well and the power packed performance is something the company is actually proud of. With a 350 cc engine at its hear, the BMW C400X is smartphone compatible and offers a quality ride in every terrain. It competes in the market with the likes of Yamaha XMAX 400, the Suzuki Burgman 400 and Kymco Xciting 400i in its segment.
Coming to the powerful engine, the BMW C400X is powered by 350 cc, Single cylinder 4 stroke engine with 4 valves per cylinder and overhead camshaft with rocker arm capable of producing a maximum power output of 34 HP @ 7500 rpm and an utmost torque of 35 Nm @ 6000 rpm. It gets a fuel injection system as standard. The engine is mated to Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) which in simple words means its gearless. The suspension duties are handled by a 35 mm telescopic forks at the front and the rear wheel gets a Double aluminium swingarm with double springs struts and an adjustable preload. The smaller wheels actually handle the scooter well and firm on the ground in order to provide optimum performance and a comfortable ride. Ample boot space is also a boon.
The BMW C400X gets double disc brakes at the front with a diameter of 265 mm and 4-piston calipers while the rear gets single disc brake with a diameter of 265 mm and 1-piston floating caliper. The addition of dual channel continental ABS have made it easier to handle the scooter in every terrain and provide traction control. The 775mm of seat height is pretty comfortable to manage rider of every height. The claimed top speed of the scooter is 139 kmph ensuring a powerful ride and the mileage of 30 kmpl is impressive. Emission levels according to the Euro 4 has made it efficient to drive and commute.
