Bajaj Pulsar 125 Carbon Fibre Split Seat Review

09 Nov, 2023 10:31 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Bajaj launched the new Carbon Fibre Edition for the Pulsar 125 in 2022. Bajaj offers this Carbon fibre edition with new graphics in two new colours in contrast with black bodywork. Bajaj Pulsar 125 comes in Single seat and Split seat setup configurations.

2024 Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat carries the same design and style as its other Pulsar siblings. The design has now started to grow old but it still has a cult following. The split seat design is a USP as the competitors in the segment don't have it. The Pulsar 125 Split seat is a welcome change and it also provides a good ride experience.

The Pulsar Carbon Fibre 125 Split Seat is a huge bike when compared to segment benchmarks. It is 2,042 mm in length, 765 mm in width, 1,060 mm in height, and 1,320 mm in wheelbase. The Pulsar 125 is easy to handle be it through the city or in heavy traffic.

A 124.4cc single-cylinder twin-spark DTS-i engine powers the Carbon Fibre Pulsar. It produces a max power output of 11.8 hp at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.8 Nm at 6500 rpm. These figures are decent and the bike doesn’t feel underpowered under any circumstances. This BSVI-compliant twin-spark engine comes with a 5-speed transmission system. This fuel-efficient engine gives a real-world fuel economy of over 50 to 55 km/l.

Bajaj offers the Carbon fibre edition with an 80/100-R17 front tyre and a 100/90-R17 rear tyre. This configuration allows for better handling within city limits while also improving mileage. A 240mm front disc brake and a 130mm rear drum brake setup handle the braking duties. A better safety net is present in the form of single-channel ABS on the Pulsar 125 Carbon Fibre Split Seat. The Pulsar 125 is not as well equipped as its rivals when it comes to features and amenities. It gets a semi-digital instrument cluster that is carried over from the older Pulsar. There is not much to offer but the Pulsar 125 split seat is the best value-for-money product in the market.

Bajaj has equipped it with a class-leading split seat, a halogen headlamp unit, and Pulsar's signature split tail lamps. 3D logos, neon highlights, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and black alloy wheels are also there. The suspension duties are handled by the front telescopic and the 5-step Nitrox rear setup. This suspension setup along with tubeless tyres gives excellent handling and stability.

The Bajaj Pulsar 125 competes with Hero Glamour 125, Honda Shine, Honda SP125, and TVS Raider 125 in the Indian market. But since the price hike for the Pulsar 125, the competitors have a price advantage over it.

Regular car maintenance is essential; keeping your engine properly tuned can improve gas mileage by an average of 4%, and using the recommended grade of motor oil can improve it by 1 to 2%. Avoiding excessive idling is another key tip, as idling can use a quarter to a half gallon of fuel per hour. Turning off your engine when parked and avoiding drive-thru services can also help. Additionally, removing excess weight from your vehicle can improve fuel economy, with an extra 100 pounds reducing MPG by up to 2%. Keeping your vehicle clean and free of aerodynamic drag by washing and waxing it regularly can also improve fuel efficiency. Finally, planning your trips efficiently, such as combining errands and using GPS to optimize routes, can minimize the distance driven and save fuel, money, and time.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat Drum

Honestly, the Pulsar 125 Split Seat feels like a younger sibling of the classic Pulsar. The styling is sharp, and it’s comfortable for both rider and pillion. But I wish it had a bit more torque for quicker overtakes. For daily use, though the mileage and build make it a great pick.

The Bajaj Pulsar N150 strikes a balance between performance and practicality. Its 149.68cc engine delivers adequate power for urban commutes. The lightweight chassis enhances maneuverability, while the semi-digital console adds a modern touch. However, the lack of a rear disc brake is noticeable during hard braking.

TVS XL 100 is a per bike for those who have tight budget. It come under 50k price and best suitable for daily commute. I bought this bike for my gardener who’s living with us for more than 20 years. He is really happy for this gift, now he can use this for his part time. The mileage is very sufficient of 50kmpl. The built up quality is strong and durable. However the pick up is the biggest drawback for TVS XL 100. I must say, apart from pick up everything is good to go. It has very low maintenance as well.
