Is the Chetak Urbane's performance in the rain a deal breaker?
15 January 2025 09:22
I’ve had some scary moments in the rain, maybe you’ve been lucky. I once rode through a deep puddle and the scooter shut off completely. Not fun in heavy traffic!
Is the Chetak Urbane's performance in the rain a deal breaker?
15 January 2025 09:22
No scooter is ideal in heavy rain, but then again, no scooter is. Same as any other two wheeler, I just slow down and avoid deep water.
Is the Chetak Urbane's performance in the rain a deal breaker?
15 January 2025 09:22
The monsoon performance is a real concern, I live in Mumbai. On really rainy days I find myself leaving the Chetak at home and using other transport options. It’s not confidence inspiring.
Is the Chetak Urbane's performance in the rain a deal breaker?

Bajaj needs to improve waterproofing, I think. For the price we're paying it should be able to cope with rain without us worrying about damaging the electrics.
Is the Chetak Urbane's performance in the rain a deal breaker?

I’ve done some DIY waterproofing around critical areas and it’s made a huge difference. It's a little extra protection in wet conditions.
Is the Chetak Urbane's performance in the rain a deal breaker?
15 January 2025 09:22
It doesn’t perform well in the rain, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. When I can, I just plan my trips around the weather. At least it’s better than getting drenched on a regular scooter!
Is keyless operation on the Bajaj Chetak Urbane more of a hassle than it is a convenience?
15 January 2025 09:22
Keyless operation is honestly more trouble than it's worth. I've had my Chetak for about 6 months now and at least once a month I find myself struggling with delayed starts. When you're in a hurry, it's super annoying.
Is keyless operation on the Bajaj Chetak Urbane more of a hassle than it is a convenience?
15 January 2025 09:22
The keyless feature is actually something I love! Oh, it’s so easy not having to dig for keys when I’m lugging groceries. It hasn’t been all smooth sailing, but yeah, it’s been smooth sailing for me.
Is keyless operation on the Bajaj Chetak Urbane more of a hassle than it is a convenience?
15 January 2025 09:22
The feature itself is cool but I think Bajaj rushed it to market without enough testing. Twice already, my neighbor's Chetak has had issues. They should have used a regular key until they got the tech right.
Is keyless operation on the Bajaj Chetak Urbane more of a hassle than it is a convenience?
15 January 2025 09:22
The keyless operation is a godsend for someone who always loses their keys! It’s not perfect and occasionally there are some problems, but the convenience makes the clumsy design worth it for me.
Is keyless operation on the Bajaj Chetak Urbane more of a hassle than it is a convenience?

This one is on the fence for me. I'm worried about security, but it's nice not needing keys. If someone was tech savvy, how hard would it be to hack and steal the scooter? At least you know where you stand when you have a key.
Does the Chetak Urbane's added weight over other electric scooters justify its metal body?
15 January 2025 09:22
Totally worth it, the metal body! The flimsy plastic scooters, you should know, are out of my reach and that if I were to buy one my Chetak would feel solid and premium. It's heavier, but I feel much safer riding it in crazy traffic.
Does the Chetak Urbane's added weight over other electric scooters justify its metal body?
15 January 2025 09:22
I disagree. It's such a real pain when I need to move the weight around in parking. Also, I see it eating into the range. I prefer a lighter, more efficient me.
Does the Chetak Urbane's added weight over other electric scooters justify its metal body?
15 January 2025 09:22
It's a trade off, and I think Bajaj made the right call. The battery will probably be dead long before the metal body! And let’s be honest, it looks way classier than most other e scooters.
Does the Chetak Urbane's added weight over other electric scooters justify its metal body?
15 January 2025 09:22
I’ve had plastic and metal body scooters, and the weight of the Chetak is noticeable, but not a deal breaker. It’s pretty durable, which is a big plus if you’re going to have it for years.
Does the Chetak Urbane's added weight over other electric scooters justify its metal body?
15 January 2025 09:22
I'm not a fan of the weight. And it makes the scooter less nimble in city traffic, and I can feel it struggling on steeper inclines. I would like to see Bajaj reach a middle ground between weight and durability.
Does the Chetak Urbane's added weight over other electric scooters justify its metal body?
15 January 2025 09:22
The great resale value of the metal body. My friend just sold his 2 year old Chetak and it looked as if it was brand new. How about trying to do that with a plastic scooter?
Does the Chetak Urbane's added weight over other electric scooters justify its metal body?
15 January 2025 09:22
I think people are over complicating things in their heads. Compared to some other scooters the weight difference isn’t that huge. Although a few extra kilos, the build quality and classic look make up for it.
Does the Chetak’s 73 km/h top speed suit Indian road conditions?
15 January 2025 09:17
It's plenty for city riding. I rarely go above 60 anyway. For an e scooter, it’s better to focus on range, not top speed.
Does the Chetak’s 73 km/h top speed suit Indian road conditions?
15 January 2025 09:17
Not enough for me. On some of the bigger roads here I need to hit 80-85 to feel safe, 73 feels limiting.
