Do you really save money in the long run with the Bajaj CT100?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Low purchase price and high fuel efficiency makes the Bajaj CT100 often marketed as an extremely economical option. But there are debates about if it actually saves money over the long term compared to a slightly more expensive but perhaps more durable alternative. Things to think about include how often the bike needs repairs, how much spare parts of the bike costs, how fuel efficient the bike is in real world riding and how much the bike will be worth when you sell it. While some point to the affordable cost of the CT100 and low overall cost, others say that having to constantly maintain it and risk reliability issues nullify that upfront benefit. We’ll be looking at the true cost of ownership for the CT100, and this includes the short term affordability, as well the long term expenses to consider.

I think it's a false economy. A better way to spend a bit more is to get a bike that will last longer and won't have problems.

It's a money saver for businesses using it for deliveries. Repair expenses are easily overshadowed by low running costs.

The initial savings are nice, but the poor resale value is a long term killer. A more popular model is probably a better choice for you.

It does save money, in my experience. It's cheap and parts are readily available so even repairs are still cost effective.

It depends on how you use it. It’s super economical for short commutes and light use. Heavy daily use could mean more repairs, however.

Not really. Upfront, you save, but the constant small repairs add up. I wish I had bought a slightly better bike.

Definitely! It is worth it just for the fuel savings. I’ve had mine for years and the maintenance costs have been very little.
