Is the limited boot space of the Chetak Urbane sad?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
However, comparing the Bajaj Chetak Urbane to other scooters available in the market, the boot space of the scooter has been found to be pretty tiny. The main limitation is due to the battery pack placement, which consumes most of the underseat storage space. Users have complained that they can’t fit common items such as helmets, groceries, or laptop bags in the boot. As a result, the Chetak has sparked conversations about its practicality for day to day errands and commuting. For some, the limited storage is a huge negative, and for others, it’s a necessary compromise for the electric drivetrain. It also addresses other storage options, including aftermarket add ons or changing riding habits. We look at how this affects the utility of the scooter for different types of users, the student, the working professional, or the person who uses the scooter for small deliveries or errands.

There’s not much boot space, but that’s a fair trade off for the sleek design and electric powertrain. Can't have everything, right?

In order to solve this, I added a top box. Problem solved, and I actually have more secure storage than most other scooters.

If you’re used to stuffing your scooter full of things, it’s definitely impractical. How often do you actually need to carry that much stuff? It's fine for most daily use.

The limited boot space has actually been a blessing in disguise. This has made me declutter and only bring what I really need. And it helps keep the weight down, which is good for range.

It's a deal-breaker for me. The Chetak is no good, I need to carry my laptop and lunch to work. I actually got another scooter with more storage.

I don't think it's that bad. Yes it’s smaller than my old Activa but I’ve adjusted. Now I use a backpack for most things, which is actually more comfortable for riding.

It’s definitely a pain point when it comes to boot space. There’s not even enough room for my half face helmet, let alone groceries. This has caused me to rethink how I do my errands.
