Could the Discover 135 Sports have become the adventure tourer platform?
29 January 2025 07:48
An interesting idea, but I suspect the engine would have been the limiting factor. Low end grunt and durability that the 135 motor might not have been able to deliver is what adventure bikes need.
Is the Bajaj Discover 135 Sports the ultimate sleeper bike?
29 January 2025 07:48
Nope, it's pretty good but labeling it a sleeper is a bit much. It would be left in the dust by any modern 150cc bike. For its time, it was good, but let’s not get carried away with all the nostalgia.
Is Bajaj’s claim of 72 kmpl for the Discover 125T Disc really true, or just another marketing ploy?
29 January 2025 07:46
No one gets the advertised mileage in any vehicle, let’s be real. Despite that, the Discover still provides great fuel efficiency relative to its rivals.
Has anybody been able to modify their Discover 125T Disc for better performance while still being reliable?
29 January 2025 07:46
Focus on handling mods instead. In reality, chasing a few extra horsepower doesn’t make as much of a difference as better tires and upgraded suspension.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?
29 January 2025 07:46
Braking power is not all that it's about. It makes the disc look way cooler, and might even help with resale value down the line. If you are going to sell in a few years, worth considering.
On the long distance touring front, how does the Discover 125T Disc stack up against purpose built tourers?
29 January 2025 07:46
If you’re on a budget, it’s actually not bad for touring. It’s good on fuel efficiency, meaning fewer stops, and an upright position is comfy for hours.
Can we really call the Discover 125T Disc's pillion seat a "torture rack"?
29 January 2025 07:46
Having ridden pillion quite often, I’d say it’s fine for short trips, but after 30 minutes or so, it starts to become uncomfortable. Definitely room for improvement.
Is Bajaj taking too many Discover variants? Does the 125M get lost in the shuffle?
29 January 2025 07:41
This is Bajaj just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. The 125M is fine, but it's hard to recommend when the lineup changes every year.
Is the Discover 125M’s build quality issue overblown or is it a real thing?
29 January 2025 07:41
It's a budget bike but people forget. Of course, it’s not going to feel as premium as more expensive options. If you take care of it, it gets the job done reliably.
Does the Bajaj Discover 125M really live up to its claims of being the 'king of mileage'?
29 January 2025 07:41
I think it’s a decent middle ground. It’s not the absolute best, but it’s definitely better than most 125cc bikes out there. It's also more fun to ride than some of the ultra fuel efficient, but boring options.
The Discover 125M's petal disc brake, for example, is it really going to make a difference, or is it just for show?
29 January 2025 07:41
The difference is real, but subtle. The brake feel is definitely more progressive, it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s definitely more progressive.
Is the Discover 125M really that different from the Discover 125S?
29 January 2025 07:41
I’m gonna be the contrarian: it actually makes the bike a less commuter friendly bike. The power needs to be revved higher to access it, which isn’t great in city riding.
Did the Discover 125 ST have a semi digital instrument cluster too early?
29 January 2025 07:39
I honestly did not think the fancy cluster was worth it. An experienced rider on a 125cc commuter like most of us barely, if ever, takes a look at his speedometer, let alone a tach. Instead of unnecessary bling, I would have preferred that Bajaj put that money in better brakes or suspension.
Is Bajaj Discover 125 ST really the 'sports tourer' it calls itself to be?
29 January 2025 07:39
I think Bajaj was smart to market it as a 'sports tourer' – it provides the bike with some cool factor, without actually having to offer true touring capabilities. Surprisingly it handles pretty well for a 125cc bike on twisty roads. Yes, it's not going to keep up with bigger bikes, but for its class, it's sporty enough. The comfortable ergonomics are the touring part.
The Discover 125 ST’s monoshock rear suspension vs dual shocks.
29 January 2025 07:39
While improved ride quality is the primary reason for the monoshock, that extra suspension travel also imparts more progressive suspension action for better handling. The Discover 125 ST feels more confident than you’d expect from a budget 125 on twisty roads. It won't make it a sportbike, but it's a noticeable improvement.
Was Bajaj remiss in not having a disc brake option on the Discover 125 ST?
29 January 2025 07:39
The absence of a disc brake option did more to hurt the Discover 125 ST’s image than its performance. The bike didn’t feel as premium as some rivals, who started offering discs. Having the option would have been a smart marketing move even if most buyers stuck with drums.
Was Discover 100T too early in the Indian market?
29 January 2025 07:34
That was ahead of its time, but that’s not always a good thing. But the market wasn’t willing to pay a premium for a high tech 100cc.
How reliable is the long term of the Bajaj Discover 100T compared to other Bajaj models?
29 January 2025 07:34
After 40,000 km it is a nightmare: electrical issues, engine noise, anything you can think of. Stick to simpler Bajaj models.
So, why did Bajaj stop the Discover 100T, even though it was so popular?
29 January 2025 07:34
The reason I reckon is because people started moving to either basic 100cc bikes or more powerful 125cc+ bikes. The 100T sat awkwardly in the middle.
Does the Discover 100T’s monoshock rear suspension actually do anything?
29 January 2025 07:34
That depends on how you ride. You might not notice if you are a sedate commuter. You can push it a bit and the difference is clear.
