How reliable is the long term of the Bajaj Discover 100T compared to other Bajaj models?

by @ashutosh.kumarover 1 year ago0 views8 answers
Bajaj bikes have a reputation as a bag of mixed reliability in the long term. Owners report some great durability and low maintenance costs on others, but there are complaints of frequent problems, especially as the bikes grow older. This makes the Discover 100T, which is equipped with more robust engine and features, an interesting case study. Debates rage over whether its higher tech components make it more prone to problems than simpler Bajaj models like the Platina and CT100. On the other hand, some say that the better engineering actually extends longevity. Discussion about the 100T's true long term value proposition is still ongoing, and owner experiences seem to vary wildly.

Mine’s crossed 80,000 km with only routine maintenance. It comes down to how you ride and keep it.

In reality, if taken care of properly, the 4 valve engine actually lasts longer. The plastics and electricals let it down.

It’s more reliable than the Pulsar, less than the Platina. It comes at a cost.

It's a lottery. Some units seem to fall apart, others last forever. Bajaj's quality control is a hit or miss.

The electricals are its Achilles' heel, but the engine's solid. Have a good mechanic on speed dial.

Not bad for Bajaj, but that's not saying much. It still doesn’t beat Honda or TVS for long term reliability.

After 40,000 km it is a nightmare: electrical issues, engine noise, anything you can think of. Stick to simpler Bajaj models.

Mine's been bulletproof for 7 years. Regular maintenance is key. It will last forever if you treat it well.
