The Bajaj Discover 125 ST had a semi digital instrument cluster consisting of an analog tachometer and digital speedometer as well as a fuel gauge and a trip meter. At the time, this was somewhat unusual for its segment as most competitors still used fully analog clusters. The incorporation of a tachometer, in particular, was a tip of the hat to the bike's sporty pretensions. Opinions, though, were divided over whether or not this feature actually added real value, or was just a gimmick to make the bike seem a little more premium. While some riders liked the extra information and modern look, others said they didn’t need it on a 125cc commuter bike. The durability and readability of the digital display was also called into question as compared to traditional analog gauges.
