Does the Discover 100T’s monoshock rear suspension actually do anything?
Where it really shone was in its rear end, which used a monoshock suspension; something very uncommon in the 100cc segment at the time. Bajaj said that this offered better ride quality and handling than traditional dual shock absorbers. But opinions on how well it works appear to differ among riders. There are those who praise the enhancement in comfort and stability, particularly on rough roads, and others who claim there’s little to no difference in real world conditions. People also debate whether or not the monoshock setup added too much complexity and possible long term maintenance issues to what was otherwise a solid commuter bike.
Absolutely! It has a noticeably better ride quality than my old Splendor. It’s a champ at soaking up bumps.
Meh, it's overhyped. It’s hard to tell the difference from my friend’s dual shock Hero bike.
It's good, but not game-changing. Most commuters won't notice the real benefit, which is cornering stability.
Great feature, but a 100cc bike doesn’t need overkill. It's like trying to put racing slicks on a Maruti 800.
Nice monoshock, but repairs are more expensive. Dual shocks are reliable, simple, and I'd rather have those.
That depends on how you ride. You might not notice if you are a sedate commuter. You can push it a bit and the difference is clear.
I also love it for carrying a pillion. On long rides my wife is much more comfortable on this 100cc bike than others.
