Is Bajaj’s claim of 72 kmpl for the Discover 125T Disc really true, or just another marketing ploy?
The Discover 125T Disc is advertised for impressive fuel efficiency figures by Bajaj, which often claim figures around 68 kmpl under ideal conditions. But owners' real world experiences appear to differ greatly. This has resulted in debate about the truth of manufacturer claims versus actual performance. Fuel efficiency is influenced greatly by riding style, traffic conditions, maintenance, and even fuel quality. Some say they get close to the claimed figures, others well short. The industry has been discussing the ethics of advertising 'ideal' fuel efficiency numbers and whether there should be more standardized, real world testing. In fact, as the Discover 125T Disc is a popular bike among buyers who choose it for its fuel economy promise (a key consideration in the buying decision for budget conscious customers), the topic is especially sensitive.

It's a good mileage but Bajaj should be more transparent about the real world figures. It would help to build more trust with customers.

I have the bike for 2 years and my average is 58kmpl. Not bad, but definitely not 68 kmpl. Don’t believe everything a manufacturer claims.

No one gets the advertised mileage in any vehicle, let’s be real. Despite that, the Discover still provides great fuel efficiency relative to its rivals.

I believe Bajaj's numbers are attainable, but not in actual conditions. I get about 62 kmpl still, which is still pretty good.

The key is proper maintenance. If you keep your bike tuned and your tires properly inflated you'll see mileage on par with the claimed numbers.

That really depends on your riding style. On highway runs I've managed to squeeze out 72 kmpl, and city mileage is about 60 kmpl.

Marketing BS! Nothing close to 68 kmpl have I ever seen. In the city, on a good day I might get 55 kmpl. Bajaj is definitely overpromising.

In mixed city highway riding I get 65-70 kmpl consistently. If you ride sensibly it’s pretty close to Bajaj’s claims.
