Is the Bajaj Discover 100T the 'Ultimate 100cc' bike?
29 January 2025 07:34
Launched with a lot of fanfare, it was revolutionary at the time, but Bajaj didn't update it enough over the years. A missed opportunity to keep it ultimate.
Is the Bajaj Discover 100M a city commuter or is it comfortable enough for long rides?
29 January 2025 07:29
People don’t give it enough credit, it’s more capable. Did a 1000km trip last year. Was it the most comfortable? No. It was super efficient, but it got the job done.
What is the Bajaj Discover 100M like to ride in wet conditions compared to its competitors?
29 January 2025 07:29
I ride as a food delivery rider, and I rely on my Discover every day, rain or shine. It’s reliable enough, but you have to be extra careful and smooth with inputs when it is wet.
Is modifying the Bajaj Discover 100M for better performance actually worth it or is it a waste of money?
29 January 2025 07:29
I’ve seen some crazy Discover builds with big bore kits and all. Yeah, they’re faster, but the reliability just goes out the window. Not a daily commuter, not worth it.
Is the Bajaj Discover 100M really 'bulletproof' or is it just hype?
29 January 2025 07:29
For 6 years now my dad has been using one for his milk delivery business. It’s that thing that has been driven around on rural roads and keeps going. That’s pretty impressive if you ask me.
So does the Bajaj Discover 100M's "DTS-i" technology really make a difference?
29 January 2025 07:29
As a former engineering student, I can tell you that the theory behind DTS i is solid. In the real world, so many things impact mileage it's difficult to separate it out.
Is the Bajaj Discover 100M really the 'King of Mileage' or just hype?
29 January 2025 07:23
It's definitely not just hype. I’ve been riding my Discover 100M for over 2 years now, and I get 75-80 km/l consistently in mixed city highway riding. It's not the claimed 84 km/l, but it's still pretty damn efficient. All you need to do is ride sensibly and obey maintenance.
Did the Discover 100 5G go too conservative with its design?
29 January 2025 07:21
It was a mistake to design it conservatively. Even in the commuter segment, people want their bikes to stand out.
Could Bajaj have missed a trick in not offering more color options for the Discover 100 5G?
29 January 2025 07:21
It wouldn't have made a difference if it had more colors. More than just a paint job was needed to make the bike succeed.
How come the Discover 100 5G is so heavy?
29 January 2025 07:21
Its downfall was the weight. 100cc engines aren't designed to haul that much steel around in the most efficient manner.
Did the 5-speed gearbox on the Discover 100 5G make a difference?
29 January 2025 07:21
It's great for highway touring but a little bit unnecessary for daily commutes. I still liked having the option.
Is the Bajaj Discover 100 5G all the hype it is made out to be?
29 January 2025 07:21
Honestly, I owned one for 3 years and it was pretty decent. So not mind blowing, but reliable and did the job. Highway rides in the 5th gear were nice.
What makes the Discover 125 Drum Brake uncomfortable for some riders and perfect for tall riders?
29 January 2025 07:15
I think people are mixing 'good for tall riders' with 'good for big riders'. Yes, it's spacious, but the ergonomics are still the same as for a small bike. If you are tall and lanky, you will love it. Tall and broad? Not so much.
Is the Discover 125 Drum Brake’s suspension truly the 'bone jarring' reputation it has?
29 January 2025 07:15
The "bone-jarring" reputation is overblown. Now it’s not the plushest ride you’ve ever had, but it’s a long way from being the worst in its class. The firmness is good when you have a pillion or heavy loads, plus.
Is the Discover 125 Drum Brake braking system as inadequate as some riders say it is?
29 January 2025 07:15
It's a trade-off. Cheaper to maintain and less likely to be damaged, drum brakes are the type of brakes. For day to day commuting they are good enough. But yeah, more confidence would be nice, and discs would be nice to have.
Are owners actually right when they claim the Bajaj Discover 125 Drum Brake is truly 'indestructible'?
29 January 2025 07:15
Indestructible? That's just marketing hype, come on. It’s a decent commuter, but I’ve seen some Discover’s with troubles. It is very susceptible to problems with the electrical system. For its price range, it's tough, but let's not get carried away.
Why do some riders swear by the fuel efficiency of the Discover 125, while others complain it's a gas guzzler?
29 January 2025 07:15
Weight matters a lot. I’m a big guy and I usually have a lot of things with me. I don't get great mileage but my lighter friends with the same bike get much better efficiency. That's not a flaw in the bike, that's physics.
Is the Discover 100 4G a good platform for someone who is new to mechanics?
29 January 2025 07:09
It's not for the beginner. It’s tight tolerances, and if you’re not careful, you can mess things up easily. The carburettor was one of the things that I found to be especially finicky to work on. It’s better to start with a more old, simpler bike like a Boxer or a Splendor because if you make a mistake in riding you can afford it.
Let’s see how the Discover 100 4G fares for food delivery gigs.
29 January 2025 07:09
For the past 6 months, I’ve been using my Discover 100 4G to deliver for Zomato and it’s been a game changer. It’s no joke when it comes to fuel efficiency – I’m saving a ton on petrol costs. It's lightweight, easy to weave through traffic, which is crucial for meeting those delivery deadlines.
Can the Discover 100 4G take two-up riding for couples?
29 January 2025 07:09
It's all about expectations. But if you're fine with going easy and ain’t worried about using the fast lane, then the Discover 100 4G can make for a great, value for money choice, as long as we're talking about couples. It's been great, we've done plenty of scenic rides. Expect to have a hard time keeping up with bigger bikes on the highway, though.
