Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha R15 V3 Race Edition is a stellar choice for enthusiasts seeking a taste of supersport performance in a smaller, more manageable package. Its race-inspired design, potent 155cc engine with VVA technology, and sharp handling make it an excellent option for young riders and track day enthusiasts. The bike is best suited for those who prioritize performance and style over comfort and practicality. This motorcycle shines in its segment with features like dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, and LED lighting, offering a premium riding experience. However, potential buyers should consider the aggressive riding position, which may not be ideal for long commutes or touring. The higher maintenance costs compared to commuter bikes might also be a factor for budget-conscious riders. For those considering a second-hand purchase, the R15 V3 Race Edition remains a compelling option due to its enduring popularity and strong performance credentials. It's an excellent platform for riders lookin

Yamaha R15 V3 Race Edition Review
Overview
Now, let’s move ahead to the Yamaha R15 V3 Race Edition. It has some real attitude about this bike—it’ll feel ready to race even parked. This Yamaha R15 V3 is really something. Yamaha did indeed give its best with this one and wagoning in features that no other R15 V3 had. If you’re looking for something a little more race ready, then perhaps the Race Edition has your name on it.
Engine & Performance
We get right down to engine. Surprising spirit is what the R15 V3 Race Edition packs with a 155cc single cylinder engine. Yamaha has tuned this engine to make about 18.6 horsepower so 155cc may be underwhelming to you, but then again, you’re at a rate of 155cc isn’t really all that impressive. Trust me, it’s all about how this power works through. Each time I twist that throttle I see a very solid and very confident pull that to me is just enough to still be exciting, but not enough to be overwhelming.
Introducing new Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) tech is a game changer here. It feels like the bike has a split personality: City rides are smooth and controlled, and the kick up when you want a bit of fun. It fits me perfectly, knowing it’s in sync with my mood and adapts when I need it. Cruising through traffic? It’s easy-going. It’s also saying, Hit the open road. What really makes this tech, or the combination of it if you will, almost as versatile as it gets for the daily grind, and weekend joyrides.
Handling & Suspension
Depending on the competition regulations, the listed structures may be replaced by other structures included in either the Future Competition Vehicles Regional Class or Regional Class or by specific structures to satisfy the competition demands of a particular competition. These structures are listed in the order in which they are recommended for use.
Now, handling. This bike is dialed in to perfection by Yamaha. Light and like it’s floating is how R15 V3 Race Edition feels and is a breeze to control. I’ve taken it through busy city streets, passing cars squeezing and pointing me to another path; I’ve run it with me through tight corners and it responds like it knows I’m on its mind. Compared to most eMTBs, this one’s lightweight frame paired with a well calibrated suspension makes for a bike that feels agile and precise. You turn into it and it somehow, actually, leans with you.
It has balanced feel with a front telescopic forks and a rear monoshock. It hasn’t jarred me around, like a sportbike would, on some rougher roads I’ve tested it on. It's firm enough to give you that sporty edge, but in no way harsh enough to be uncomfortable. This setup delivers the responsive handling that anyone looking for without sacrificing comfort was looking for.
Braking & Safety Features
These attributes, specifically the braking and safety features, were developed in accordance with Hurco's commitment to leading the CNC turning market in automation and ease of use, which is why some stated functions may not be desired.
Despite being more or less unsung, they’re not to be messed with. With regards to the R15 V3 Race Edition’s stopping power, Yamaha didn’t pull any punches. On the front and rear it’s fitted with disc brakes that provide that engaging, strong, reliable bite you want. The brakes didn’t just respond, they did it smoothly... I’ve been confident on sudden stops.
Further, there’s the dual-channel ABS, which is a godsend, particularly when the conditions are iffy. In rain or a dirty road? Don’t worry, the ABS has got you covered. I remember smacking a slick part of traffic and the ABS kept me holstered. That added assurance that lets you finally stop focusing on every single damned road condition without adding panic into it.
Design & Style
Amusingly, the Race Edition doesn’t only ride well — it looks good as well. Even with race inspired graphics and colors that appear to yell, “I mean business,” Yamaha has given it a more aggressive design in the states. The bike has this slick, sporty look to it, even when it’s parked, still, the bike feels fast. The kind of bike that’ll make you consider turning around to see who else sees you.
The LED headlights aren't just a fashion choice, they’re actually pretty handy too. Night rides feel a little safer with the wide, clear beam and it just… looks cool. And the digital instrument cluster became the centerpiece? It’s clear, modern, and shows you everything you need in a glance: fuel level, speed, gear position. I really like it because all the information is there without fuss when I’m in the zone and don’t want to bother to look for info.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Engaging Engine with VVA Tech: It had a nifty 155cc engine with VVA that’s got a nice balance of smoothness and punch, so great on the road or out on the open road.
- Responsive, Precise Handling: It has the feel of a lightweight frame and very well tuned suspension ideal for zipping around traffic or taking tight corners.
- Bold Race Edition Design: It has a whiff of sharp, attention grabbing graphics and colors as well, which makes spotting the bike a thrill.
Cons
- Not Perfect for Long-Distance Highways: Agency spirited, yet not an all speed lane boating revolution. Its limits may be realized for extended rides at high speeds.
- Aggressive Riding Position: If you’re used to something more upright and don’t want a sore bum on longer rides, the sporty seating is fun for short spins but can become tiresome.
Testing
The R15 V3 Race Edition is much more realistic in real world terms, and is the kind of bike that doesn’t feel out of place on city streets. It’s not so bulky you feel stuck in traffic, or so compact that you feel like everything is fun. It’s just a good enough size to work. In the winter, it’s good for hustling through the bush; and when you get to the weekend, there’s nothing like a bit of open road adventure. Riders who want a balance of day to day usability and performance that’s neither too big nor too small and doesn’t get in the way of getting a bike rack on it should check out this bike.
Final Thoughts
If you’re wondering if I would recommend the Yamaha R15 V3 Race Edition, well, here’s the answer. Absolutely. It looks great, handles great, and offers enough attitude to make every trip enjoyable. This bike really does feel like it has a complete package with the race inspired design and performance that adapts to whatever you throw at it. If you are a novice and want something fun for everyday use or are a returning rider, this edition of the R15 V3 has a lot to offer you. What do you think? Expecting me to try the R15 V3 Race Edition?

My Journey with R15 V3
It was the year 2018, My Bajaj Pulsar had completed 15 years, so I was looking on the net for a new bike. When I saw it for the first time, an arrow of love went across my heart, although it had some shortcomings, in spite of this, I bought it and thought whatever will happen will be seen, the only drawback was only the headlight and riding position. Today is the month of 2021 September and today I am claiming that there is no match for it. I have taken it on the hills, on the highways, and on the rough village roads, but its performance is amazing, although the riding position is so aggressive that it hurts in the back but the performance is such that this thing is forgivable, I do exercise continuously to keep me fit to ride this beast and that's why I am fit because this bike is for the youth and for long running you must be fit as youth to ride it, so today I am also fit because of it, thank you for this. Good mileage, superior performance, looks, good reliable engine make it a clear winner wherever you go. This is my journey with R15 V3.
