Latest Updates
Friday, 18 August 2023 04:44 AM

We believe it is time for KTM India to take this into consideration and add to the portfolio as it is already being produced and sold in nations like Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries. KTM has been waiting for the right time to release the RC 250 bike as the pricing gap between both ends keeps growing. While the other 250cc engines in the portfolio have been performing decently, if not well, this one could undoubtedly perform better and aid in cross-shopping on the KTM showroom floor. Investigate it and see what it has to offer.

Friday, 18 August 2023 04:20 AM KTM has not yet officially announced the launch of the KTM RC 250 in India, but there is speculation that it could be introduced later this year. The bike, which is already available in countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.3 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India. I believe this could be a great addition to KTMs lineup, offering a fully-faired option for those who prefer a sportier ride.
Friday, 18 August 2023 02:44 PM The KTM RC 250, when it launches in India, will feature a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine, similar to its streetfighter sibling, the Duke 250. This engine is known for delivering thrilling performance, and with features like USD forks and Super-Moto ABS, it is set to compete strongly in the 250cc supersport segment. I think the combination of powerful engine and aggressive design will make it a favorite among motorcycle enthusiasts.
Friday, 18 August 2023 06:53 PM The KTM RC 250 is expected to come in a tri-color scheme of Black, White, and Orange, giving it a sleek and sporty look inspired by its bigger brother, the KTM RC8. This design, along with its lightweight chassis and responsive handling, is likely to attract riders who enjoy both cruising and cornering. I believe the aesthetic appeal of this bike will be a significant selling point.
Friday, 18 August 2023 01:58 PM KTM India is considering the right time to launch the RC 250, given the pricing gap between their current models. The RC 250 is anticipated to fill this gap and provide a more affordable supersport option compared to the RC390. I think this strategic move could help KTM capture a larger market share in the premium motorcycle segment.

KTM RC 250 Review

15 Oct, 2024 12:00 AM

Overview

So 2024 KTM RC 250 is one of them bike that will gobsmacked you. I was seriously taken by it when I first laid eyes on it — it wasn’t just another bike to get between two dots. Nah, this thing is a statement kind of thing, like that friend who comes to a casual party in a sharp suit, everybody else is in jeans. You know the type. If you’re someone who wants performance and an oddish, sharp, edgy look then the RC 250 is perfect for you.

With that said, let’s go into the details. Let’s pretend we are just talking bikes, chatting over a coffee, and I am walking you through why this is KTM to keep an eye on.

KTM RC 250 price in India 2024

From here on out we’re getting serious–price. The KTM RC 250 is expected to be launched somewhere around ?2.30 lakh to ?2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Right… not exactly pocket change, yes? You’re not just buying a bike—you’re buying a piece of KTM’s racing heritage, but at this [price], perhaps too much. That aggressive design, that almost merciless design practically dares you to push it, and the engineering underneath? A pure KTM: built for performance, built for racing.

I know what you’re thinking: “Who would buy that ‘cheaper’ bike when there are so many other bikes out there?” And yeah, there are. However, KTM seems to have this habit of justifying the price tags by performance, handling, and overall build quality. If you’ve been out on a KTM before, you know what I mean. Well, if not, you’ll be converted.

2024 KTM RC 250 Specifications: What Really Matters

Okay, time to talk specs. But let’s face reality: what do those numbers even really feel like behind the wheel? That’s what matters, right? Here’s the scoop:

  • Engine: Powered by a 248.8 cc single cylinder and liquid cooled engine that makes around 30 PS @ 9000 RPM, the RC 250 is a unit that has found its way solely into Marnella’s backyard. This bike has plenty of punch now, whether you’re trying to weasel through traffic or take some open road for a weekend romp.

  • Torque: Yes, the RC 250 gets off the mark quickly—very quickly in fact—with a man cruising capacity of 24 Nm of torque. When the light turns green you’ll feel that pull; believe me, you’ll feel it, and it’s a nice thing to feel when you leave everyone else in the dust.

  • Weight: Sitting around 166kg (wet weight), also more beefy than my one previous ride on a Honda CB250R. It is a plus, though, because that extra weight helps the bike be more stable at higher speeds, especially when you’re pushing it on the highway. It’s still nimble enough to flick around corners without feeling like you’re dealing with a beast.

For the RC 250, the real magic is how the bike handles. That lightweight trellis frame and sharp steering geometry mean that the bike feels planted, even when you’re turning into a corner. It gets that ‘racer’s edge’ that you’re going to feel from the first lap of carving up the roads. It feels like the bike just knows exactly where you want to go even before you turn into it. Yeah… it’s that good.

Mileage: The Real Story

Frankly, India isn’t the cheapest place to travel, but now we have to talk mileage. You can expect around 30-35 kmpl on the RC 250. Not bad for a performance bike like this. Of course, you’re not going to win any efficiency awards, but isn’t that what you bought the bike for? It was like you’re not thinking about how many miles per gallon did you get… you get a sports car, and you don’t care too much about the number… you care how driving it feels, when you hit the throttle.

You might squeeze 35 kmpl if you’re delicate on the pedal on the highway, but real people don’t tend to be delicate on the pedal. At 30 kmpl, it should be about city traffic conditions. It’s a pinch you’ll feel at the pump, if you’re used to more commuter focused bikes but if you’ve been on a KTM, you’ll forget even exists.

Ride Quality: In the Real World It Feels Like This

We’ll talk about ride quality now. KTM’s formula of a performance first suspension setup continues with the 2024 RC 250. But out front you’re got WP Apex upside down forks, and at the rear there’s a monoshock. It’s a dialed in setup for control, not comfort. It’s a dream on smooth roads, but hit a few potholes or rough patches, and you’ll definitely feel it.

The tradeoff for rides like these is that you’ll give up a smidge of comfort for instantaneous action. I have taken a similar bike out on some twisty roads, and a bike, the RC 200, swore it knew where I wanted to go before I even leaned into the turn. The RC 250? You’ll actually get that kind of precision. Ridden for riders that prefer control and responsiveness to plush cushy rides.

Looks: Aggressive, Edgy and Ready to Race

To put it plainly, this bike looks as fast even with it standing still. It is all KTM, with a sharp, aggressive design language all over the RC 250. Angular bodywork, split LED headlamps and low-slung stance to it make it look mean, ready to race.

If you’re like me, you love a bike that will draw attention without even trying, this is it. Upon pulling up at a red light on a KTM, there’s always someone that’s doing a double take. Honestly, that’s half the fun of owning a bike like this, right?

Pros and Cons: The Real Story

Pros:
He said that the bicycle has a strong power-to-weight ratio, making it an exhilarating ride.
- Especially holding through corners in a precise manner
- WP suspension, Trellis frame quality components.
- Outright aggressive, standout styling that has to be prominent

Cons:
- Pricey for a 250cc bike
- Really stiff ride, not one of comfort
If you’re doing long commutes, mileage isn’t great.

My Take: Is the KTM RC 250 for You?

Thus, in the same fashion, if you’re the rider who gives out priority to performance and looks over pure practicality, the KTM RC 250 is going to leave you grinning. It’s fast, it’s sharp and it’s just a joy to ride. Even when you’re just heading out to the grocery store it’ll basically make you feel like they you’re ready to step on track.

If it's pictures you want, you've come to the right place. But if you're looking for something fairly comfortable for long rides or a daily commuter, one that won't break the bank at the pump, you might want to think twice. It’s a thrill machine, the RC 250 is built for speed and not leisurely cruising.

Is the 2024 KTM RC 250 the right bike for you though? This is your bike if you are after a bike that looks and acts like it was straight out of MotoGP. In fact, if you’re after something more laid back, you might wish to keep on going. If I had a few twisty roads and the budget, personally I’d be all over it.

The 2024 KTM RC 250 is how I see it. Not everyone’s bike, it’s not: if you feel the need for the need for speed or, more simply, you like stylish, sharp designs this is worth a peak. If you’re ready to ride, it’s ready to give you the heat.

When is Bajaj going to launch the KTM RC 250 in India?
29 December 2022 05:51
KTM RC 250 is only for export market and will not make way into the Indian market. The bike gets power from a newly developed and lightweight 248.8 cc, 1-cylinder motor. The bike is exactly the same as the RC 200 and 390 in terms of design and specifications. It produces 30.87 BHP and 24 NM of torque. The front and rear wheel gets 300 mm and 230 mm of disc brakes respectively. The front suspension remains USD forks whereas the rear is the same monocross unit. Everything has been kept same except the ultra lightweight engine, which is 37.2 KG only. It is made in India and exported to other countries. India has not segment for the bike as pricing will disturb the current market of RC 200 and RC 390. It returns a mileage of 30-35 kmpl.

I ride this 300 cc monster each and every day in my life since I bought it, just local errands about 40 to 50 kms everyday, even though everyone talks about the riding posture and all that, for a person height above 6 feet and above... It's gonna be the most perfect bike for you. Even though it takes your energy, due to its race posture, you gotta learn how to hold the belly of the bike and ride, that way it becomes easy. As the cons I mentioned: little tank, vibration due to less engine refinement, flat seat, no slipper clutch (in 2014 models). It's the bike for anyone and everyone to ride and learn before you proceed to higher capacity vehicles, so that you know how to control your mind speed, and to ride responsibly. This is true, applause to KTM for bringing such an awesome bike as this to India.

Best Features: Strong motor, even though it's a single 373cc cylinder, you gotta ride one of these.

Pros: Performance, riding posture for those track days, informative digital console.

Cons: Riding posture in terms of versatility or DAILY use. Vibs like hell, you can even say it's a sporty royal Enfield. FUEL tank: I gotta full my tank every 2 days, just gets boring
