KTM RC 250 Review

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

The KTM RC 250 is a supersport bike produced by the Austrian company KTM. Its sleek and sporty design is inspired by its bigger brother, the KTM RC8. It is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that delivers thrilling performance. The KTM RC 250 price in India, mileage, top speed, and specifications are all available here. It will be available in India soon, with a BS6-compliant engine and a new paint scheme.

KTM RC 250 Design and Style

The new RC 250 has a sharp and sleek design that is similar to its bigger sibling. The front has round-shaped twin-projector headlamps that give it an alien appearance. The muscular fuel tank and sharp body farings contribute to its streamlined appearance. It has a sporty look with an upswept tail section and a compact pillion seat. Even though it hasn't received any major design updates in a long time, the KTM RC 250 still looks sporty and race-ready.

2023 RC 250 has a 1340 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 178.5 mm. It has a fuel tank capacity of 9.5 litres, which is a disadvantage if you intend to tour. This supersport has an 820 mm seat height and a dry weight of 147 kg, making it the lightest among competitors such as Ninja 250 and Yamaha R25.

KTM RC 250 Engine and Gearbox

The engine in this supersport is a 248.8cc single-cylinder, DOHC engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It has an electronic fuel-injection system for fuel delivery and a BOSCH engine management system. The KTM RC 250 has a power-assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch, which reduces engine back-torque and makes the clutch pull lighter. The RC 250 produces 30 HP at 9000 rpm and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm. It has a strong mid-range performance but lacks the top-end grunts of the other quarter-litre supersport bikes.

KTM RC 250 Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

2023 KTM RC 250 is built on the same steel trellis frame as the rest of the RC series. It is outfitted with 43mm WP USD forks up front and a WP mono-shock suspension at the rear. The RC 250 uses a 300mm 4-piston calliper disc brake at the front wheel and a 230mm 1-piston calliper disc brake at the rear wheel for braking. It also comes standard with BOSCH dual-channel ABS. The KTM RC 250 is equipped with 17-inch orange cast alloy wheels and premium Metzeler tyres.

Key Features of KTM RC 250

2023 KTM RC 250 has an eye-catching twin-projector halogen headlamp. It also has sharp-looking LED daytime running lamps and an AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature on its headlamp. It gets a stylish LED taillamp unit that is placed elegantly beneath the pillion seat. All four turn indicators are sleek LED units, with the front set mounted on the rearview mirror.

2023 KTM RC 250's instrument panel is a fully digital LCD unit with an orange backlight. The LCD unit displays the following information: speed, odometer, fuel gauge, trip metre, engine temperature, and average speed. It also displays current fuel consumption and the distance to empty. It has a gear shift light and a gear position indicator in the instrument cluster. The RC 250's LCD console is well-lit and easy to read while riding.

It has split seats that look sporty, but the pillion seat is small and uncomfortable for long rides. The new KTM RC 250 comes with a sporty side-slung exhaust. It also has BSOCH 2-channel ABS and a supermoto mode that allows the rider to turn off the ABS on the rear wheel. A side-stand engine cut-off switch is also included.

Top Speed and Mileage of KTM RC 250

2023 KTM RC 250 has a top speed of 155 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 9 seconds. Its combined mileage output is approximately 30 km/l.

KTM RC 250 Colour Options and Price

Black/White/Orange (Tri-Color) The RC 250's siblings, the KTM Adventure 250 and the KTM Duke 250, are already available in India. According to media reports, KTM India intends to launch the supersport version in the Indian market soon. The KTM RC 250 will be available in India in the second half of 2022. It will have a BS6-compliant engine and will be KTM's second supersport bike in India when it is released.

The upcoming quarter-litre RC will be slightly more expensive than its streetfighter sibling, the Duke 250. The price of the KTM RC 250 in India is expected to be around Rs 2.3 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom Price). The price difference between it and its bigger brother, the RC390, will make it difficult for the brand to price it for the Indian market.

KTM RC 250 Competitors

Apache RR 310, Aprilia GPR 250, Kawasaki Ninja 250 SL, and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 are the main competitors of the KTM RC 250 in the single-cylinder 250cc segment. Only the Gixxer SF 250 and the Apace RR 310 are available in India, with the Aprilia GPR 250 expected to arrive later this year.

2023 KTM RC also includes premium features such as USD forks, Bosch EMS, and Super-Moto ABS. Because of its powerful engine and aggressive and sporty design, the RC 250 has an advantage over other bikes in its class.

The new RC 250's design hasn't been changed or updated in a long time, but it still manages to look current. It has a razor-sharp design language and appears stylish from head to toe. It has a high build quality and an excellent finish. KTM RC 250 is one of the sportiest and most aggressive-looking 250cc motorcycles on the market.

The liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine performs admirably. This quarter-litre supersport from KTM is one of the most powerful bikes in its class. It has excellent mid-range performance but its top-end performance could be improved.

2023 KTM RC 250 is extremely agile and handles superbly, especially around corners. This sports bike is loaded with modern features that set it apart from other bikes. It has a sporty and aggressive riding posture that keeps you planted on race tracks and around tight corners. It is lightweight and has quick acceleration, making it a joy to ride.
